A whopping 84% have shopped on Amazon at some point, and 31% of consumers said they&#8217;d buy clothing from the e-commerce giant in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have to work at setting up an attractive store with appealing listings. But if you&#8217;re passionate about selling clothes, Amazon is an excellent market to dive into. <\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-amazon-s-guidelines-for-selling-clothes\">What are Amazon&#8217;s guidelines for selling clothes?<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>In the past, clothing was a &#8220;gated&#8221; category, which meant that sellers had to get Amazon&#8217;s approval before creating clothing listings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s no longer the case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The No. 1 rule when it comes to selling clothes on Amazon is that they must be new. You cannot sell used clothing on Amazon like you can on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pickfu.com\/blog\/ebay-product-sourcing\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"eBay (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\">eBay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sellers must also:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Provide photos of the clothing item listed<\/li><li>List branded clothing items with the original manufacturer&#8217;s universal product code (UPC)<\/li><li>Only sell authentic products<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> Amazon enforces that last point by requiring sellers to ask for permission from certain brands and\/or Amazon before selling its clothing. <a href=\"https:\/\/selleressentials.com\/amazon-restricted-brands-category-approval\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\">The list of restricted brands<\/a> mostly includes well-known and luxury names like Adidas, Guess, Lucky Brand, and Under Armour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you buy a boatload of name-brand clothes to resell, download the Amazon Seller App and use it to scan the barcode of items you&#8217;re interested in selling. It&#8217;ll save you money, time, and headaches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And stay away from clothing that&#8217;s graphic, insulting, or offensive to any group of people. <\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-much-do-i-pay-to-sell-clothes-on-amazon\">How much do I pay to sell clothes on Amazon?<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>How much you pay depends on how much you sell, or plan to sell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you set up your Amazon Seller account, you choose between an Individual Plan and a Professional Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the differences: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Individual Plan<\/strong>: If you plan to sell fewer than 40 clothing items a month, this is the plan for you. Amazon charges a selling fee of $0.99 per item sold plus a referral fee of 17% with a $0.30 minimum. If Amazon fulfills your orders, you&#8217;ll also be subject to <a href=\"https:\/\/sell.amazon.com\/pricing.html#referral-fees\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\">Amazon&#8217;s FBA apparel fulfillment fees<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>Professional Plan:<\/strong> For those who intend to sell 40 or more clothing items a month, the Professional Plan offers sellers a flat fee of $39.99 a month, plus the same 17% referral fee with a $0.30 minimum per item. The same FBA fulfillment fees apply. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You have more options with the Professional Plan. You can ask to sell items in restricted categories, qualify for top placement on product detail pages, and use Amazon&#8217;s advanced selling tools.  <\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-i-get-started\">How do I get started?<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Once you sign up for a plan, figure out how to source your products. If you have your own clothing brand, you already know where to start. But if you want to do retail or online arbitrage, take time to source a small collection of items that you&#8217;re confident about reselling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now&#8217;s a good time to decide whether you want to sell FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) or FBM (Fulfilled by <g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">Merchant<\/g>).
