# How do I build a poll from a template?

> Build a PickFu poll from a pre-built template to save time and money. Learn how to browse the template gallery, what templates include, and how to launch.

From your dashboard, click "Use a template" or browse the Popular templates section and click "View all templates." Pick a template that matches your use case, add your options, and launch. Templates are pre-built with optimized settings and are often discounted.

# How to find and browse templates

There are a few ways to get to the template gallery:

* From the dashboard, click the **"Use a template"** button at the top.

* Scroll to the **Popular templates** section on the dashboard and click **"View all templates."**

Once in the gallery, you can browse by industry, use case, or media type. Use the filter in the left sidebar to switch between all templates and team templates.

# What's included in a template?

Each template comes with a pre-set poll type, audience size, and targeting traits. You add your own options (images, text, etc.) and can customize the question text. Some settings are locked to keep the template optimized — and discounted.

For example, an Amazon main image test template might include: Head-to-Head poll type, 2 image slots, 50 U.S. Amazon Prime members, and one additional demographic trait. If you needed more images, respondents, or niche targeting, you'd build from scratch instead.

All current templates are single-question polls.

# Step by step

1. **Select a template** that matches your use case.

2. **Add your options** — upload your images, enter your text, or paste your URLs.

3. **Customize the question** if needed (the template provides a default).

4. **Preview** your poll to make sure everything looks right.

5. **Pay and launch.**

# When to use a template vs. building from scratch

**Use a template when:** Your use case matches what's available, and you want speed and savings. Templates are optimized for common tests and get you from question to launch faster.

**Build from scratch when:** You need custom targeting, more options, a specific poll type, multiple questions, or full control over every setting. Use the survey builder for complete flexibility.
