If an image won't upload or doesn't appear after uploading, the cause is almost always one of four things: an unsupported file format, a file that's too large, an image that's too small, or a browser issue. Work through the checks below in order. # 1. Check the file format Standard image options accept **JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP**, and many other common image formats. Several poll types are stricter — Image Sets, Click Tests, and 5-Second Tests accept JPG, PNG, and GIF, while SERP mockups accept JPG and PNG. **If you're uploading a PDF, convert it to PNG or JPG first.** PDF uploads are a common source of failures — a PDF is a document format, not a native image, and multi-page files especially can fail or display incorrectly. Check the file size and dimensions * **Maximum file size:** 10 MB per image. Larger files won't upload — compress or resize the image first. * **Minimum width:** 500 pixels for standard polls (800 px for Image Sets, 1,000 px for Click Tests). Images below the minimum may be rejected or look blurry to respondents. Check your browser If the file itself is fine but the upload stalls or the image doesn't appear in the builder: 1. **Refresh the page** and try the upload again. 2. **Disable ad blockers or privacy extensions** temporarily — they can interfere with uploads and previews. 3. **Try a different browser** (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or a private/incognito window. 4. **Check your connection** — large images on a slow connection can time out silently. 5. **Check PickFu's status page** — if uploads that worked yesterday are failing today across browsers, check [status.pickfu.com](https://status.pickfu.com/) for any active system issues before troubleshooting further. # 4. Preview before you launch Always use the **Preview** function before publishing. If an image didn't upload correctly, respondents can't evaluate your options properly, and PickFu's quality systems may stop the poll early. Catching a broken image in preview costs nothing; catching it after launch means stopping the poll and relaunching with the credit. Resize your images to matching dimensions before uploading. PDF handling is less reliable than native image formats, so a PDF that uploaded once may fail another time — especially multi-page files. Converting to PNG or JPG is the reliable path and takes seconds in most design tools. ## The image shows in the builder but respondents reported it missing Stop the poll from your results page (you'll receive a prorated credit for unfulfilled responses), then duplicate the poll, re-upload the image, confirm it in Preview, and relaunch. ## Where do I resize or compress an image? Any image editor works.
