# What are Reports?

> Turn finished survey results into a written report in a few minutes. Generate one from a survey or a project, then keep it private or share it.

**Reports turn your survey results into a written report.** PickFu reads your finished survey's responses and writes a summary with sections you can read, share, and send to stakeholders. A report is usually ready in a few minutes.

Every report starts out private to you. You decide whether to share it with your team or with anyone who has the link.

# Where to find your reports

Click **Reports** in the sidebar of your dashboard. The Reports page lists every report you've written and every report your teammates have shared with your team.

Use the tabs at the top to narrow the list:

* **All** – your reports and reports shared with you.

* **Mine** – only reports you wrote.

* **Shared with me** – reports your teammates shared.

You can also search by report title, survey name, or author, and filter by status: **Ready**, **Writing**, or **Failed**.

If you have finished surveys without a report, the Reports page lists them under **Surveys without a report** so you can generate one in a click.

# How do I generate a report?

You can generate a report as soon as your survey has finished collecting responses.

## From a survey's results

1. Open the results page of a finished survey.

2. Click **Generate report** at the top of the page.

PickFu starts writing a **Survey summary** report. You can leave the page while it writes. When it's done, you'll see a notification that your report is ready.

## From a project

To write one report across several surveys, generate it from a [project](https://www.pickfu.com/help/projects-overview-organize-your-team-s-research-efforts.md):

1. Open the project.

2. Click **Generate report**.

PickFu writes a **Project summary** report that covers every finished survey in the project and takes the project's goal into account. **Generate report** is available once every survey in the project has finished. A single report can cover up to 25 surveys.

# What's inside a report

Each report includes:

* **Summary** – the main findings, up front.

* **Sections** – the detail behind the findings. A **Contents** list lets you jump to any section, and you can copy a link to a specific section to point a teammate straight to it.

* **Answer Themes** – the recurring themes in respondents' written answers, with each theme's sentiment and the share of respondents who mentioned it. Switch to **By option** to see themes for each option, or open the **Word counts** tab to see which words and phrases respondents used most.

* **Sources** – the surveys the report is based on, with respondent counts and links back to each survey's results.

The top of the report shows how many surveys and respondents it's based on. For very large surveys, PickFu reads a sample of up to 500 written answers per survey, and the report says how many it read out of the total.

# How do I share a report?

Only the person who wrote a report can change who sees it. Open the report and choose who can see it:

* **Private · only you** – the default. Only you can open the report, even if you copy its link.

* **Team** – everyone on your [team](https://www.pickfu.com/help/how-do-i-invite-my-team.md) can open it after signing in. It also appears on their Reports page under **Shared with me**.

* **Public · anyone with link** – anyone with the link can read the report without signing in, including the survey results it quotes.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Before a report goes public, PickFu asks you to confirm. Making a report private again later stops new visits, but it can't undo what people already saw.

To copy a report's link, open the **More actions** menu next to the report and click **Copy link**.

# Managing your reports

From the **More actions** menu on the Reports page or on a report, you can:

* **Rename** a report.

* **Regenerate** a report to write it again from the latest results.

* **Delete** a report. You can click **Undo** right after deleting if you change your mind.

Only a report's author can rename, share, or delete it.

# Frequently asked questions

## Do reports cost anything?

Reports use [platform credits](https://www.pickfu.com/help/what-do-platform-credits-cost.md). Creating a report from your survey results costs 50 platform credits. Platform credits are free until PickFu's new plans launch.

## Why can't I see the Generate report button?

**Generate report** appears only on finished surveys. If your survey is still collecting responses, wait for it to finish. On a project, every survey in the project needs to have finished, and the project can have no more than 25 surveys.

## What if my report fails?

If a report can't be generated, it shows a **Failed** status. Your survey results are unaffected. Click **Try again**, and contact support if it fails twice.

## How are reports different from AI Insights?

[AI Insights](https://www.pickfu.com/help/what-is-the-ai-insights-report.md) is a short overview that appears automatically on every results page. A report is a fuller written document you generate on demand, can build across a whole project, and can share with your team or anyone with the link.
