# Why can’t I use my coupon?

> Coupon error codes usually mean the discount code expired, does not apply to your purchase, or was already used — how to troubleshoot coupon issues.

**Coupon error code**

The coupons we give out have certain restrictions and are only available for a limited time. If you receive an error code when trying to apply it to your cart, it may be because the coupon is no longer valid, does not apply to your current purchase, or you have already used it.
