The stainless steel is easier to say making it easier to judge the size of the shovel. It also makes the whole thing look like it has been sterilized.

It looks like it would be easier to handle to me. The other one has some off beat handle that I would need more instruction to use it seems. It looks awkward. The one I chose is simple looking and self explanatory. I'm not sure of the black ne is facing up or down from the looks of it.
