I LIKE THAT A LETS YOU KNOW HOW MANY PLACEMATS THAT YOU GET.

A
B
C

I prefer the image with more description.

A
B
C

Option A is nice because it allows the buyer to see the table runner up close and carefully examine the pattern that it has on it. B and C are also nice because they also allow the buyer to look at how the table runner might look went put on furniture. It gives them an idea for how long and wide it is.

A
D
B

I picked the one that displayed the product the best. I think A did that the best. Told us what it was, how many pieces were in it and it did a good job at showing the product. The others were ok but A did it the best.

A
C
B

I chose option A because I like that you can clearly see what's being offered. I also like option C which shows more of an unexpected use.

A
B
C

Option A clearly displays the product better than the other options. Options B and C display the product in use, but its at an angle and I can't examine it as well as I'd like. Option D is just confusing because There's so many products in the image and the table runner/place mat is not the focus of the image to me.

A
B
D

A is the only one that makes clear what the product is without a title and description. It also does a better job of showing the pretty floral design.

A
B
D

I prefer knowing the exact number of table linens and type included and the first choice makes their quantity and type the most clear, with the second showing all of them in use on a table. My last choice really doesn’t achieve showing the full set nor does the in selected option which only show a closer view of the fabric and pattern.

A
C
B

much easier to see size and shape. Detail of the design is clearer.

A
D
C

Showing what the item is, naming it as a tablerunner and showing the set is the most appealing option

I ranked the images of the decorative cloth that I thought looked the most attractive.

Those choices were the most professional of all the ones presented to me.

i like B and C because they show the product best in it's environment and is best for aesthetics

B
C
A

The one I didn't show does not give you any idea to the product's size. The other one's at least do that.

B
C
A

The shots showing the runner in use is the most helpfulto get a sense of size and style. Then I also like the shot showing exactly everything you get in the package.

B
C
D

I like seeing the size and how the cloth looks when displayed.

B
C
D

I like these options because it shows the product in action, not just a plain mockup

B
C
A

I do not even understand what the product is in option D, this is why I put it last. Option B gives me quite good knowledge about the product and its size. Option A should include some info about the product size though.

B
A
C

I prefer the ones that show the items as they are in use

B
A

Choice B gives me a clear picture of what I am looking at and the sizing of it.

B

i love the first one

B
C
D

I prefer the options that show the product displayed so you can get a sense as to how it looks when laid out. Just showing the product against a white background makes it hard to see how it is utilized.

B
C
D

I like seeing how the product actually looks on furniture, and seeing it on a table is best! Looks like a really nice product!

B
A
C

I prefer Option B since it shows what the product would look like on a table. It is my favorite since it shows the product being used, and what it would look like. Pretty tablecloth.

B
C
D

B looks the most elegant and shows the product in the best light as far as its use.

B
C
D

I like to see the product actually being used on a table

B
A
C

I can get an idea of how long the product is and how the place mats fit.

B
C
D

Option B shows the runner and the place mats how they could be used. Options C and D only show the runner. Option A only shows the products till in the package. It's nice to get an idea of how things will look in the real world.

B
C
D

Showing the runner in various situations where it might be useful is helpful in making a purchasing decision. This is why I chose the options I did. I especially like the runner on top of a table.

B
D
A

I chose option B because I would like to get an idea of how long the runner was and how it looked on the table. I chose option D because I can see how the design looks a little closer up. I then chose option A because I would like to see exactly what I'm getting for my purchase. I don't like option C because it doesn't give a good feel of the design or how long it is .. also it doesn't give the idea that it's 5 place mats and the runner. This picture makes us think it's just a runner.

B
C
D

I prefer the pictures that show me specifically how the cloth will be used, as it gives me a sense of scale and allows me to see how it might look on the furniture in my home. I also ordered my preferences in order of how fancy the scenery is and how large it appears in the photo, as this paints it in a much better light.

B
C
D

i would use it more a s atable runner than for the top of a dresser because i would have no use for the placemats in that cae

B
D
C

I like seeing the product being out and being used, as it helps me think in my head about how it would look in my house and how it would fit with the rest of my home decor.

B
A
C

choices B, A, & C each show what the products would look like displayed in a home.

B
C
A

B helps me see how long it is and shows me how great it can look. C shows me how great it can look but doesn't really show me how long it is. The only reason I picked A over D is because D doesn't show a good picture of it, the items on top of it are more on display than the table runner, and I liked that it showed what pieces came with it in option A over D.

B
C
A

I felt like the images where the table runner was shown in full length gave me the best impression of the product. I didn't like option D because I couldn't really see the whole product or tell what it was. Option A was okay, but it was hard to get an idea of the material and what it would look like on a table.

B
A
C

I selected B for my first choice because it shows the entire table runner and setup as I would be using it. This is the most demonstrative picture.Option A was #2 because it showed in detail exactly which products I would be receiving. Option C shows a large portion of the runner, so I selected it as #3 because Option D showed only a small piece of the fabric in the picture and was not focused on my product.

B
C
D

"B" looks best laid out on the table. "C" looks next best. "D" at least shows the product laying out.

B
C
D

I would choose B and C because I can get an idea of what the item looks like and how it can be styled with other items.

B
A
C

I would buy from B or A because I know exactly what I am getting.

Shows more of the overall surroundings of the room not just what is on the table or part of the table of just the place mat. Kind of get a feel for how everything goes together in the room.

I chose C D and B because I can actually see how the table runner would look while it's on a table before I buy it

Overall I really like items that are suppose to be laid out to look good, i like seeing it being used not just some plain picture.

C

I chose C because it is the most clear display of the product to me. The glass table takes away from the product, and in D you cannot see the full length.

Survey Analysis

Winning Option: Characteristics and Appeal

  • Option B emerged as the preferred brand packaging design, securing 12 out of 15 votes. Respondents frequently highlighted its aesthetic appeal, emphasizing the luxurious and high-quality impression it conveys. The ability to stack packages was a notable practical advantage mentioned by participants.
  • Several respondents appreciated the monochrome color scheme of Option B, which they found less overwhelming compared to more colorful designs. This preference for simplicity suggests that minimalistic designs may resonate well with this group.
  • Additionally, environmental considerations played a role in favoring Option B; some participants noted its reduced plastic usage and recyclability as attractive features.

Key Topics Across Options

  1. Aesthetic Appeal: Across both options, aesthetics were crucial in influencing preferences. Participants often referred to colors and overall design quality when justifying their choices.

  2. Environmental Concerns: Both options had respondents who valued environmentally friendly aspects of packaging. However, while Option A was praised for being reusable and eco-friendly by some, others perceived Option B’s reduced plastic use as more sustainable.

  3. Practicality: Practical elements such as ease of stacking (Option B) or suitability for travel (Option B) were significant factors in decision-making processes.

Hypotheses for Further Testing

  • Investigate whether minimalistic designs consistently outperform colorful ones across different demographic groups or product categories.

  • Explore if environmental messaging on packaging significantly influences consumer preference when compared with other attributes like luxury perception or practicality.

  • Assess how important stacking capability is relative to other functional benefits in various contexts such as home storage versus travel convenience.

These hypotheses can guide further research into understanding deeper consumer motivations behind packaging preferences observed in this survey context.
