I don't care for the font on "Flower Stump House" on option B. IT looks sloppy and amateurish

A

The other one is too busy.

A

The "graphics" have a bit more detail for realism that could attract an older audience. I only dislike the small choking hazard warning but a parent would be buying it and notice.

A

This has a more orderly professional looking picture display.

A

It's a better color

A

There is less going on in A so I find it more visually appealing and easier to focus on the item for sale.

A

Option A is brighter and looks more modern and current. I think Option A seems higher quality than Option B.

A

I voted for Choice A because it seems less cluttered.

B

I love the larger images, it shows the items in much more detail. The colors used seemed more vivid as well.

B

The colors looks brighter, and the rainbow really lightens everything up. I also like the font a lot better. The only thing I would change is to use the grass from A, since it looks better.

B

Choice B is brighter and more appealing and is easier to read with larger more apparent warnings and recommendations.

B

The darker, brighter colours of the rainbow and the greener grass stand out a lot more. They are happy and attractive. "A" looks very dull.

B

It's brighter, and more polished. It makes the items look nicer, and brings out the colors better. It would catch the eye more, seeing it on the shelf.

B

the rainbow and colors make it seem better.

B

The rainbow and photorealistic grass draw more visual interest and would cause most consumers to give more attention to the product when on display.

B

It is more vivid and colorful, clean and clear for a young child to want

B

Better color scheme.

B

I chose B because it jumped out at me more. The colors are brighter and bolder which makes it look better to me

B

i prefer the shaper more colorful image not only does it have a rainbow but it has cursive writing it looks more fresh/fun

B

Ok... I'm just going to say it... These are weird!!! But I think B is a better choice as it is more attractive with the colorful rainbow!

B

I chose option B because i think it is better looking. The colors stand out more they are brighter over all making it's more vivid and eye catching. Plus I like the rainbow.

B

Simply put, B has more vibrant colors and makes me want to learn about the content. The text font is not so basic as well.

B

The picture is much more clear

B

It's colorful and clearer than the other option

B

The rainbow on "B" makes the colors on the flower stump house and the fairies seem more vibrant. The font style on "B" is more fairy tale looking then the font on "A". "B" picture of the sky and grass looks more realistic then the picture "A" The warning labels on "B" stand out more therefore making the warnings more noticeable.

B

The bright colors were more attractive to the eye.

B

Both boxes are ugly, but if we have to choose it is the "B" choice because it is brighter blue.

B

There is too much empty space in picture A.

B

I like the colors better on B, but it is a little overcrowded

B

Choice B is more colorful, bright and eye pleasing.

B

I am voting for option B. The colors are more vibrant than in Option A. Option A the colors are faded an makes it difficult to see the picture clearly.

B

Option B had colors that were more vibrant. Option A appears to be watered down and faded compared to B. B looks more modern and new.

B

B with the rainbow and brighter background makes me happier just looking at the box. A just seems gloomy.

B

The rainbow ties the whole thing together better and helps me to focus on the items themselves

B

I personally think that the rainbow makes the packaging much brighter and "happier" looking and the bright colors would appeal to a young girl

B

The colors and the text stand out. They get my attention and make me want to learn more about the product.

B

The font is very happy and playful and the rainbow really brings the whole picture together.

B

Because I love the artwork

B

I think the fonts on choice B seem more 'fun'. I also think having "collect them all" in bigger writing is good so people right away see it is a collectible.

B

More colorful and appealing. It some how seems happier and more positive. Also the "4 pieces" is larger and easier to see.

B

The colors pop a lot more on option B. I think the other one is also very good but next to option B it is a little pale.

B

It's brighter and more eye-catching.

B

I like this one because it is much brighter and it draws your eye to it

B

I choice B, because of the bright colors drawl your attention to the picture. I also like that the writing is larger and easier to read.

B

B really stands out more. The colors are bold and the it look more informative and A. I think be will be the better choice.

B

There seems to be a bit more information on this box or maybe it is just that the information stands out more. Everything on the box seems more noticeable like the title. I prefer the rainbow also, it is very attractive and colorful

B

I like the brighter colors and the different grass. In B the grass blends better. A is very mute in the color tones.

B

this is more whimsical and children would be more drawn to it. I like the colors and the rainbow and feel that it best reflects the product. I also like that the age is more clearly stated, and the choking hazard warning is larger, making it more suitable for kids. All around, B is a better choice for what I perceive to be is the target market.

B

it looks alot more colorful with the rainbow and the grass looks greener and the words stand out more.

B

The colors appear more vibrant, the fonts are larger, more dynamic and seem to grab my attention. Choice A struck me as significantly more washed out and dull.

Winning Option: Characteristics and Appeal

Respondents frequently highlighted its aesthetic appeal, emphasizing the luxurious and high-quality impression it conveys. The ability to stack packages was a notable practical advantage mentioned by participants.
  • Several respondents appreciated the monochrome color scheme of Option B, which they found less overwhelming compared to more colorful designs. This preference for simplicity suggests that minimalistic designs may resonate well with this group.
  • Additionally, environmental considerations played a role in favoring Option B; some participants noted its reduced plastic usage and recyclability as attractive features.

Key Topics Across Options

  1. Aesthetic Appeal: Across both options, aesthetics were crucial in influencing preferences. Participants often referred to colors and overall design quality when justifying their choices.

  2. Environmental Concerns: Both options had respondents who valued environmentally friendly aspects of packaging. However, while Option A was praised for being reusable and eco-friendly by some, others perceived Option B’s reduced plastic use as more sustainable.

  3. Practicality: Practical elements such as ease of stacking (Option B) or suitability for travel (Option B) were significant factors in decision-making processes.

Hypotheses for Further Testing

  • Investigate whether minimalistic designs consistently outperform colorful ones across different demographic groups or product categories.

  • Explore if environmental messaging on packaging significantly influences consumer preference when compared with other attributes like luxury perception or practicality.
