I like the shape of A better.

A

Option A has a closer view that helps you visually figure faster how the product can be used.

A

I like that it is larger and easier to see the detail.

A

The hourglass look is preferred. It will take less effort to fasten

A

The more pronounced curves make the graphic more aesthetically pleasing.

A

I like the close up picture I can see more detail.

A

I like the curve in A

A

Appears to give more of the hour glass shape. Mama knows I need that now after three kids destroyed my body.

A

I like seeing the image larger and more closeup you can see the fasteners better and also it is better if there is not a large white space in the background like the first one.

A

B looks like a lampshade. However, I would never buy a torture device like this.

A

A looks like what it will be used for, B just looks like a lampshade!

A

A slight closeup. I agree, that's the best one.

A

The close up view is much better

A

they both look pretty identical but this one i suppose because the image looks larger

A

This shaper show more curves and the image looks better up close.

A

this one has the hour glass shape

A

A is a better picture with more detail, it looks like a really product picture rather than an image.

A

I like the close up picture so I can see the details better.

A

Option A is a closer up version that better shows shape and texture.

A

the product would give that hour glass look, all women would love to have

A

The second choice looks wider on the bust.

A

they are both the same...one is a smaller picture.

A

I like that this one is zoomed in to see more detail.

A

I like the shape of options A. It's more curvy and what I would expect a corset to do for my figure.

A

I chose option A because I like the up close photo.

A

Option A shows the hourglass shape that is the whole purpose of wearing a corset. Option B looks like a lampshade.

A

I chose choice A because the shape of the product looked more appealing and comfortable. The other choice looked too stiff and did not make me interested in purchasing.

A

Option A looks like it wouldn't be quite as snug which is more appealing to me. I don't want to buy something that is going to completely crush my rib cage if I'm wearing it. Option A looks like it would just make things look better by fixing my figure but not crush my rib cage in the process.

A

I chose A because I think it would give me better results than B. A really is taken in through the midsection and looks like it would train my waist better.

A

I prefer this option because it is shaped, I think it accentuates shapes better which I prefer.

A

A is better because i can see the details and features up close.

A

I like the curviness of Option A.

A

I like the curve that choice A provides me, and it also seems to be able to fit my shape better for a costume or outfit.

A

Option A is more appealing to me because I like the shape of the corset. It looks like it will suck you in more than option B. The pear shape is in!

A

It looks more slimming as you have visibly see more of a curve.

A

this one is shapelier and looks nicer overall

A

Option A is the better choice. It provides more coverage than Option B. Also the design of Option A appears like it follows the natural curves of a woman's body better than Option B.

Option A felt too big and in my face, where b looked just right.

B

Due to the slightly smaller upper portion, it looks to me like B would be more comfortable than A, particularly if wearing an underwire bra.

B

The additional piece of stitching and fabric that the tag is attached to is the main reason I would pick Option B. It looks cleaner and more symmetrical than Option A in comparison.

B

It looks more petite and compact. The other one lookss larger and bulkier.

B

This one is more realistic looking to use. The other one would be for someone who is already thin and doesn't need the product as much and may have been doing waist training.

B

B seems more useful for many different sizes

B

A looks like it would be really really tight and possibly uncomfortable.

B

I chose B because it simply looks smaller in the ad. If you're a "big girl", you probably already have a "big" complex. So, the one in B might be more appealing. I'm assuming this is a girdle.

B

I prefer something that is not so restrictive. Choice A looks like too much material.

B

this one looks to be a more comfortable fit;

B

Assuming I am not taking into account the size of the photo, as Option B is not cropped correctly -- I prefer the image of Option B. While the 2 products appear very similary, it has a smoother look to the material. Also, the extra line of silky looking fabric makes the brand tag pop more. The seams appear much smoother on Option B, whereas A looks like they may not be "flat" and may protrude through clothing.

B

I chose B because it looks like it would just help smooth you out. Choice A looks like it would completely change your body shape.

B

I like this choice because it seems more form fitting and shouldn’t stick out on the top.

Survey Analysis

Winning Option: Characteristics and Appeal

  • Option B emerged as the preferred brand packaging design, securing 12 out of 15 votes. Respondents frequently highlighted its aesthetic appeal, emphasizing the luxurious and high-quality impression it conveys. The ability to stack packages was a notable practical advantage mentioned by participants.
  • Several respondents appreciated the monochrome color scheme of Option B, which they found less overwhelming compared to more colorful designs. This preference for simplicity suggests that minimalistic designs may resonate well with this group.
  • Additionally, environmental considerations played a role in favoring Option B; some participants noted its reduced plastic usage and recyclability as attractive features.

Key Topics Across Options

  1. Aesthetic Appeal: Across both options, aesthetics were crucial in influencing preferences. Participants often referred to colors and overall design quality when justifying their choices.

  2. Environmental Concerns: Both options had respondents who valued environmentally friendly aspects of packaging. However, while Option A was praised for being reusable and eco-friendly by some, others perceived Option B’s reduced plastic use as more sustainable.

  3. Practicality: Practical elements such as ease of stacking (Option B) or suitability for travel (Option B) were significant factors in decision-making processes.

Hypotheses for Further Testing

  • Investigate whether minimalistic designs consistently outperform colorful ones across different demographic groups or product categories.

  • Explore if environmental messaging on packaging significantly influences consumer preference when compared with other attributes like luxury perception or practicality.

  • Assess how important stacking capability is relative to other functional benefits in various contexts such as home storage versus travel convenience.

These hypotheses can guide further research into understanding deeper consumer motivations behind packaging preferences observed in this survey context.
