The pricing is set based on the duration of each video uploaded, across the number of options, and the number of questions with video content in the survey. The reason we set it up this way is based on the complexity or duration of time respondents have to spend interacting with your assets. We incentivize them with a higher payout to watch long-form content like videos to avoid or reduce the "bounce rate". To be clear, respondents that accept to partake in your survey cannot leave halfway through, they must complete it fully, otherwise they do not get paid so you will never receive partial responses.
Each question includes 30 seconds of video in the standard polling price, and can be either 1 video or shorter video clips across multiple options. For example, if you have 2 15-second clips to compare in a head-to-head poll, there is no add-on cost for complexity. You can test videos longer than that, as detailed below, but will incur additional fees.
Included video time by option count
Here's how much video time is included per question:
1-2 options: 30 seconds
3 options: 45 seconds
4 options: 60 seconds
Each additional option is another 15 seconds.
How pricing increases with multiple options
Video time is shared across all options within a question, and the included time is determined by the number of options before you upload videos.
For video tests with fewer options, the total included duration is also less. Because the included time is lower for questions with less than 3 options, pricing can increase if your total uploaded video length exceeds the included amount.
For example, on a question with 2 options, it can cost 2x the standard rate because it's easier to exceed the 30-second total in a head-to-head comparison.
Breakout:
Option 1: 30 second video
Option 2: 30 second video
Total time: 60 seconds
You've used the 30 second amount included, so you'll be paying the multiplier for the extra 30 seconds.
If your total video length stays within the included time for your option count, no multiplier applies.
Videos uploaded as context count toward your total video time and do not grant additional included time.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know how much my videos will cost?
You can build and save as many drafts in the builder as you want and as you make changes, it will adjust (and save) automatically. Because our platform is highly customizable, there are a lot of variables that can impact pricing outside of video length (number of questions, sample size, audience segmentation, etc) so it's best to use the builder to get a more accurate cost based on your specific needs.
Can I have multiple questions with videos, how does that work?
Absolutely! This is a common use case we see when testing several videos across multiple questions. The pricing is calculated based on the number of options per question. Just keep in mind, the more time-consuming, or more complex each survey is, the price will adjust to incentivise and reward respondents for their time.
What happens if I exceed the included time?
There are total file limits, which you can view here; otherwise, if your total video time exceeds the included length, additional charges will apply.
What if one option is much longer than the others?
If you are trying to have respondents choose between their preference of a short clip vs long, you can still test them together as a head-to-head test. It is allowed, and the length doesn't have to match from option to option, just the total video length in that question/survey, before the price accelerator kicks in.
