What happens after I publish my survey?

What do respondents see? What does my poll look like as it's gathering data?

As soon as you submit your survey, PickFu invites respondents from our panel to start answering. Responses begin arriving within minutes, and most surveys complete within a few hours.

Who sees your survey

Your survey goes out to PickFu's panel — an online network of paid respondents who answer surveys on a first-come, first-served basis. Every panelist has signed a non-disclosure agreement and is bound by our quality controls.

If you added audience targeting (age, gender, demographic traits, behavioral traits, etc.), only panelists matching your criteria are invited to respond.

What respondents see

Respondents see only your question and the options you're testing — not your results, other respondents' answers, or any identifying information about you. They vote on the options and write a short explanation of their choice.

💡 Preview your survey before you publish it so you can see what it will look like to respondents. This is also a great way to catch mistakes.

While your survey is running

Responses show up on your results page in real time as they come in. You can watch the votes accumulate, read written comments as they arrive, and rate them Helpful or Not helpful while the survey is still in progress.

The more specific your audience targeting, the longer your survey may take to complete. A broad audience often completes within an hour or two; a narrow demographic target can take several hours or up to a day.

Rating responses while polling is in progress helps PickFu identify and remove low-quality respondents in real time, improving the responses you get for the remainder of your survey.

When your survey completes

Once polling is complete, your results page refreshes with the final tallies and you'll get an email notification. From there, you can:

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will respondents start answering?

Usually within a minute or two. The first response often arrives almost immediately after you publish.

Can I stop my survey early?

Yes. You can stop a survey before it reaches its full sample size from the results page. You're charged only for the responses already collected.

Can I edit my survey after publishing?

No. Once a survey is published, the question, options, and audience targeting are locked. If you need to change something, stop the survey and create a new one.
