Follow-ups that depend on the answer

Add a source question – a Single Select, Multi Select, Head-to-Head, Ranked, Star Rating, or Emoji Reaction question – and set any later question to show only to respondents who chose particular answers. Ask "Which logo do you prefer?" and then show a follow-up only to the people who picked Logo B. On your results page, conditional questions carry a Conditional label and include only the respondents who qualified, so you always know whose feedback you're reading.

Frequently asked questions

Which question types can trigger Branch Logic?

Single Select, Multi Select, Head-to-Head, Ranked (based on the respondent's first-ranked option), Star Rating, and Emoji Reaction questions can be source questions. Open-Ended, Click Test, 5-Second Test, Screen Recording, Likert Scale, and Van Westendorp questions can be shown conditionally, but they can't be the question a condition is based on.

Can a question have more than one condition?

Each question can have one condition based on one earlier source question. You can select multiple answers from that source question, and respondents who chose any of them will see the follow-up.

How does Branch Logic affect my sample size?

Your sample size applies to the survey as a whole. Conditional questions collect answers only from respondents who qualified, so they usually have fewer responses than the rest of your survey. Results pages label these questions as Conditional.
