Option C won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 28 votes after 3 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 |
---|---|---|---|
C | 36% 18 votes | 44% 22 votes +4 | 56% 28 votes +6 |
A | 28% 14 votes | 34% 17 votes +3 | 44% 22 votes +5 |
D | 22% 11 votes | 22% 11 votes | Eliminated 11 votes reassigned |
B | 14% 7 votes | Eliminated 7 votes reassigned |
I think A and D are really close.
I normally hear about them from social media posts that are on my front page, recommended to me by the algorithm.
I ignore ads, it is automatic at this point. If a youtube or creator I share interest with mentions or uses something casually, that is usually how I hear about it.
I usaually see it on youtube mostly because this is what I watch the most
Non-ad social media is the most common way for me to hear about new products, especially if there's discussion about something thing that has gone viral or the product is so good that it's consistently recommended by strangers on the internet. Afterwards, search engines lead to the discovery of new brands because the brand might be recommended by major reputable websites (e.g: NYTimes Wirecutter). I think a lot of people have a tendency to either ignore online ads because they're distracting or use adblockers, so those aren't effective in the slightest.
I think option A is probably the closest to this list as I tend to watch videos for product reviews, so that usually points me in a new products direction.
Most of time when I come across new brands it is usually option A is how find new brands. Options C and D are also the usual ways I find influence in my decisions to try new brands. And of course options D and B are the usual suspects when seeing new products and mostly because these ads are hard to avoid when online.
Since I use social media very often, I used to get information through social media, as I skip ads, mostly the information is through influencers. Also occasionally I'll get pop ups during browsing.
I would put them in this order. Choice A would be my 1st choice. I find a lot of new things just watching social media.
I find that Tik Tok is where I often find out what is popular or new things that have come out. I see things there before I see it in other places often time.
Mostly on Reddit where I am searching for a product or a solution.
I mostly hear about new things online from friends
I usually learn of new brands by watching Youtube, seeing posts on social media of people casually using it, not advertising.
Most of the brands I have discovered have been by influencer recommendations or online review videos of their products. After that most of the brands I discover are from word of mouth, I get my product recommendations from a trusted person I know. I rarely buy things or get introduced to the environment of a brand by advertisement.
I ranked the order that I most frequently find new products.
B and C are the most typical ways that I have learned about products and gotten product rec's.
I find B and C to be more reliable and trustworthy than A or D.
I usually find new brands when I need a product, search for it and then compare the different options available.
I love my search engines to find new and interesting things.
Option B is top because I prefer going to reading reviews and articles about the product first and also checking out the brand website directly. Option A is second because my second choice is to go the brand's socials to see what they post. Option C is third because I also check with family and friends about their experiences if any. Option D is last because their social media ads are the least reliable and trustworthy.
Search engines are usually how I find out about new brands or products because it means I'm actively seeking out something related generally. Non-Ads and Word-of-mouth are about equal because I generally am told by a friend or come across something that again is consistent with my normal browsing, circles, or networks.
The primary way I hear about new products/brands is through word of mouth. Then, I seek out more product information after that.
The vast majority of ads are for low quality products. It's much better to focus on what real people in the real world have to say about things. This can't be manipulated by companies as well.
word of mouth then online ads are what would likely be the first time I hear of something, I usually have an ad blocker.. so online advertisement doesn't work that well unless it is embedded in media
I normally find brands through word of mouth or personal research.
normally someone would tell me about it and I'll look into it. I like getting recommendations on it. After that I see it online like social media and stuff. I have found a couple good companies from Facebook ads
I prefer organic connections, listen to community radio, and support local businesses. Social media isn't reliable or worth supporting financially.
I’m a social guy and talk a lot with my friends and neighbors about products. I remember years ago first learning about the iPod from a good friend.
I ranked them based on how I usually hear about new brands. The margins are very thin though, like C&B are probably about the same.
I would say initially I hear about a new and upcoming brand by word of mouth and YouTube would be a fairly close second. I enjoy learning about new products as long as they inline with my general interests.
I chose options that are the places where I tend to see and pay attention to ads.
I usually hear new things from friends or colleagues, and social media being a close 2nd .
I trust family and friends not to steer me wrong or trick me
I usually learn about new products from friends, family, and colleagues.
I feel like hearing from someone’s mouth is more reliable and I’m more likely to even try it in the first place
I feel like my friends are the ones that most frequently fill me in on what is trending and always are letting me know about the "newest thing". They are where I get a lot of my current trendy ideas, styles or fashion.
the only good quality brands or products I hear about are through word of mouth
Almost entirely word of mouth
Most of the new products I see are reccomendations from frineds or through social media shares.
i figure out about most products from online advertisements
Social media ads or word of mouth on social media
I see alot of targeted ads on social media about anew products that might interest me.
I usually discover it though ads online, primarily through Youtube or Reddit since I use those the most. Amazon as well, sometimes I discover things just because they're recommended to me.
D and B are the services I'm most likely to use so I imagine I hear about products this way. Especially since a lot of ads are targeted nowadays it would make sense that these types of things would grab my attention. I have family members who shop a lot and are always telling me about products they try. I don't use social media so A is last.
Mostly I'll get the information thru ads in social media or thru the posts from the influencers.
Since I am always on the computer everyday, the most common way I hear about new products or brands would definitely be online ads and social media ads.
Option D has the best way to hear about a new product for the first time and this makes me feel more interested to find out more information about it.
I think as per now the online platforms are the first thing to expose about a brand or a product , as everyone is available on social media and other online platforms so as through the influencers everyone can see the products and their reviews easily . So my top pick would be the option D and then i went with the other options as per my choice .
Option D ranks first because online ads, including social media and search ads, are the most common way people first hear about new brands due to their widespread reach. Option C comes second as word of mouth is influential but less frequent than digital ads. Option B ranks third since many people search for brands only after hearing about them elsewhere. Option A is last because non-ad social media content is less direct in introducing new brands compared to paid promotions.
I chose option D but I am not always firm with this answer. My decisions are if it is a product that I need, then I would choose B. If it was something that I want and probably don't need, I will see the ad and decide from there.
