This was an easy choice, and easy answer! I really, really like pulled pork! SW Chicken is okay, but pulled pork is just delicious!

A

I would much rather have pulled pork...i love BBQ

A

Pulled pork is a less common meal I would make so I would like to get it for free.

A

I would choose this option because I've had too much chicken the past few days and I'm up for putting together a pulled pork recipe and trying that one.

A

Considering the two options, I would definitely choose A. More so, because I really do not like south west chicken. I enjoy pulled pork and make it regularly.

A

i love pulled pork I cook it once a month in my crock pot. Plus Im not a huge fan of southwest flavors.

A

I love making pulled pork. It’s easy to make and there’s usually leftovers.

A

I like pork a lot and wanted to try it out.

A

I tend to make this type of food more often. I also think that a good spice blend on pulled pork would increase the quality of my dish and I would cook it a lot more often.

A

I picked the option that sounded better to me.

A

I really like pulled pork but I don't buy the spices often because I don't make it much. Also, I am generally not a fan of the 'southwestern' flavor

A

Southwestern chicken can vary from mild to very spice. As a family with young kids who cannot handle hot or spicy foods, the pulled pork is the obvious choice which can be prepared easier to appease pickier palettes.

A

everyone loves pulled pork

A

I like pulled pork, and Mexican/Southwestern is a flavor profile I have tons of options for already.

A

Because a have a beautiful pork shoulder roast in my freezer and I am sure it would be great piece of meat Pulled Pork and my family in not as keen on Chicken.

A

I loved pulled pork and a lot of the spices not a lot of people keep around, chicken spices are more of the kind of thing everyone has around already.

A

I do not eat pork or chicken. I would choose the pulled pork because I already make a lot of southwest dishes, and pulled pork seasoning might be good on jackfruit or tofu.

A

I love pulled pork. That's the long and the short of it. I bet the Southwestern Chicken is great too but pulled pork? Ya had me at pulled pork! It's one of my fav BBQ items so I don't see why I wouldn't gravitate towards that.

A

It sounds a bit easier to cook, Option B sounds more complicated.

Pulled Pork is very easy to make yourself. Southwest Chicken could be a ton of variations and interesting takes on it.

B

I like the taste of the seasoning.

B

I think B would be spicier and my family prefers chicken over pork.

B

I chose option B because my family mostly eats chicken. We don't eat pork very often.

B

I LIKE BOTH OPTIONS BUT I USUALLY MAKE MY OWN PULLED PORK

B

Southwest chicken tastes better. Pulled pork is gross.

B

I can have pulled pork any time. Give me that yummy southwest blend

B

I like chicken and I don't eat pork

B

I prefer chicken

B

I would choose Option B because southwestern chicken sounds like a hard recipe and I would be up for the challenge of making it. I have made pulled pork already a few times so I would want a recipe I haven't tried yet.

B

I think that chicken is more versatile because some of my friends cannot eat pork due to dietary restrictions. I also know I enjoy Southwestern-style spices, but do not have information on the type of spices included with the pork seasoning.

B

i already have a great recipe for pulled pork, but I do not have a recipe for southwestern chicken.

B

I usually eat chicken over pork because it's supposed to be more healthy. I also would rather eat southwestern chicken than pulled pork.

B

Chicken is a healthier alternative compared to Pork, especially Pulled Pork. I'm also a bigger fan of spicy foods so the Southwestern Chicken sounds tasty right now.

B

Chicken is less oily so it needs a lot of seasoning.

B

I eat more chicken than pulled pork for my taste.

B

I would choose the spice mix for chicken. I make that much more than I've ever made pulled pork, so I would get more use out of it.

B

Southwestern chicken seems like a more appealing seasoning and it could be more versatile.

B

I would choose Southwestern Chicken because I think this is harder to make than Pulled Pork. Pulled Pork is relatively easy to make in my instapot, and I want something I don't already know how to make.

B

A spice blend for Southwestern chicken would be much more tantalizing than the same for pulled pork, doncha think?

B

I really like chicken and not a big fan of pork.

B

I chose B because to me it sounds more flavorful. I also prefer chicken over pork so I thought the taste would appeal to me more.

B

I prefer chicken

B

I like chicken better and sounds more tasty

B

I would choose B because I think it'd be interesting and also I don't eat pork like in A.

B

i make chicken much more than i make pork. chicken is good, and there are a lot of ways to make it as you want it, so it would be best to have something with chicken. it's also cheaper in the long run than pork, and better for you.

B

Chicken is way more acceptable to cook for someone else. A lot of people can't or don't eat pork.

B

It sounds better than the other one

B

I tend to always have some chicken around or in the freezer so I'd like to use (and be more likely to use) a packet that arrives that uses something I have already rather than need to pick up at the store like pork.

B

I love southwestern style food. It is one of my favorites! I also eat chicken a lot more than I would eat pork.

B

I chose B because I have never had Southwestern Chicken and would like to try it. I did not choose A because I have my mom's delicious Pulled Pork recipes and have had it many times and I would like to try something different and not as common.

Survey Analysis

Winning Option: Characteristics and Appeal

  • Option B emerged as the preferred brand packaging design, securing 12 out of 15 votes. Respondents frequently highlighted its aesthetic appeal, emphasizing the luxurious and high-quality impression it conveys. The ability to stack packages was a notable practical advantage mentioned by participants.
  • Several respondents appreciated the monochrome color scheme of Option B, which they found less overwhelming compared to more colorful designs. This preference for simplicity suggests that minimalistic designs may resonate well with this group.
  • Additionally, environmental considerations played a role in favoring Option B; some participants noted its reduced plastic usage and recyclability as attractive features.

Key Topics Across Options

  1. Aesthetic Appeal: Across both options, aesthetics were crucial in influencing preferences. Participants often referred to colors and overall design quality when justifying their choices.

  2. Environmental Concerns: Both options had respondents who valued environmentally friendly aspects of packaging. However, while Option A was praised for being reusable and eco-friendly by some, others perceived Option B’s reduced plastic use as more sustainable.

  3. Practicality: Practical elements such as ease of stacking (Option B) or suitability for travel (Option B) were significant factors in decision-making processes.

Hypotheses for Further Testing

  • Investigate whether minimalistic designs consistently outperform colorful ones across different demographic groups or product categories.

  • Explore if environmental messaging on packaging significantly influences consumer preference when compared with other attributes like luxury perception or practicality.

  • Assess how important stacking capability is relative to other functional benefits in various contexts such as home storage versus travel convenience.

These hypotheses can guide further research into understanding deeper consumer motivations behind packaging preferences observed in this survey context.
