Which job title best fits this role description: Alter existing software, install new software, and troubleshoot problems related to performance of computer systems. Expert in several computer programs and data infrastructures.

This one seems to make more sense to me and fit more.
I think more people will understand what implementation is and also it sounds more professional in my opinion.
I like the sound of this one.
covers more descriptions
The description sounds more similar to the job information.
I think Implementation is more specific and it just sounds better.
i think a is more appealing to me than b
Implement is to make something work correctly which is what you want this person to do.
most of the issues are related to implementation
This feels like a better title. Implementing is something you do. "Application specialist" just sounds like a guy who deals with aps
Implementation sounds like a person who is taking action and implementing, or working on a specific task. Application might be confused with other terms, like paperwork and job applications.
The description basically describes how the person implements the software, so being an implementation specialists fits the most.
Implementation. Because it says that you are able to implement all of these things (including application and able to apply).
I think implementation specialist covers a more broad range of topics relating to IT and fits better with this description.
The both sound very dry and blan.
this seems to describe the work better (implementing computer programming/data tools).
I think that Implementation sounds a bit more professional, but software specialist would sound even better.
Application is too generic, implementation sounds a little more exciting
I prefer this option, because the name implies what the job is.
31 Responses to Option B
It sounds like he or she works on applications, getting them installed and troubleshooting.
Just the word Application and software fit together.
"Alter existing software" so you are going beyond just implementation
MORE EASY TO UNFERSTAND
not sure either quite fits
I FEEL LIKE THIS JOB TITLE FITS JUST A LITTLE BIT BETTER.
I think Application specialist maybe better suited for this role since duties also require troubleshooting software.
It sounds more seemless
It was a hard choice. Both titles are similar. I chose it because it was on the left.
Application Specialist because the person is working on aspects of software/applications. This title sounds more professional and specific.
I think the job role is more general, so this name is more general.
I like application better because most software is considered applications so I think it fits better than A.
Application seems more fitting as it is a broader term
It sounds like the job pertains more to applications than to implementation. It just sounds better.
I think I would have just called it a software engineer, but application specialist is more standard terminology. Implementation specialist could refer to a lot of things outside of IT.
Software = applications, implementation sounds like you are trying to change a policy
Application is more specific to working with software, which is what this position clearly does
You seem to be exclusively working with software applications, so application specialist is more relevant.
I'm not sure either of them best fit the description, but B does seem to fit a little better as the person would be working with different computer applications. Implementation makes it sound like the only set it up and then not touch it again
I think it's more fitting then the other option
Application would be better understood by more people than implementation specialist
I think overall this is more acceptable as more task in the role relate to software systems then actually implementing whole new computer systems.
It sounds like they deal with apps and programs mostly.
This just makes more sense with what it is being use for.
I think implementation makes it sounds like you just help set it up not help with existing and ongoing support, therefore Application is a better name.
I think this one covers the entire scope of the responsibilities and the other job title seems like it is temporary.
I feel like this job does more than just the implementation process. Since they seem to cover all areas of the application, I would go with Application Specialist.
I feel it sounds like a stronger title
Application is an an easier word to say and remember.
This makes more sense to me, since it is mainly applications that you are dealing with.
I feel like B is much easier to remember and it comes out well.
