For a business coaching & professional development book, which headshot, visually, represents the most credibility, the most relatable, the most experienced, & would increase your desire to purchase the book? (overlook the blurriness)
Option D won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 52 votes after 1 round of vote counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 |

D | 52% 52 votes |
B | 40% 40 votes |

I prefer a real photo, off the cuff, casual, real smiles!
I prefer option A, the photograph looks casual and business professional
Options A and B are much more personalOptions D and C are photos we've seen for years and are just boring with no personality
40 Responses to Option B
I think B is the most appropriate because it shows the author is down-to-earth and someone who is relatable.
He looks much more clean cut/professional in my top 2 picks, so his opinions would be worth more.
I like a bit more casual look in B, C , and A. I think B just looks the nicest.
This is the most relatable and quality image fitting for a professional headshot.
I think option B makes the person/author feel more relatable and "normal", but obviously still qualified, the big smile but more dressed down, perfect in my opinion.
I think this guy looks the happiest and most successful. The others almost look burnt. This is the perfect blend of everything
A's is a fine picture, bu it's too large and too high resolution. B is the best, looks "classiest". D looks like a much older picture so it's the second to last.
The coloration on A was so fake. D looked like the guy was trying too hard. I liked that B seemed down to earth and approachable.
I made my choices this way because I felt that the picture should not be zoomed in super close, but also should not be far away. I also felt that the picture should look professional, but no so much that it looks like the person is just here for business and not to help and relate to you.
I like the picture with the pink shirt and the beard because it looks a little more relatable and it's still professional but not too professional where it's like a full suit and everything
Option B is the best because it does not look too professional but it looks casual enough to look good. It does not look sloppy and it looks appropriate for the book. The other options are too professional or too casual.
THe headshot for B is the best choice. This image and D are the best choices all together as they are the cleanest looking photos. For a book cover, I would go for B first.
B and D he looks cuter and more clean cut, like a professional. C is alright and A just looks bad so I wouldn't think he's credible.
B gets the balance right of looking professional without being a stuffy businessman. The teeth and hair are perfect. Personally, I love A- but it's too candid/casual, so I had to vote it last since it is the opposite of what you asked.
I like this option most because I feel it is casual yet professional and I could see this as a headshot being used on a back book cover.
I prefer the more relatable photos, because it shows they are real
I picked my choices based on what seemed most honest and trustworthy.
I like B because it does not look too doctored and he does not look too bad, then A because it looks clearer than C and D looks just like a plain linked in profile pic.
I went with B. I think the gentlemen looks very confident but also very modern and current here, with the clean beard and whatnot. Feels like the best balance.
Option B it's down to earth it's a good image he looks professional. The options of A and D. i would not use those the one he's in a suit and tie not a lot of people's going to relate to that the other one hes so close up in picture like that no it's just bad idea all around
seems most personable and relatable as well as it seems the most natural looking one
I think that the first option is the only one that would encompass everything that is requested since I think that the last images are not only exaggerated but also one of them seems false and does not inspire confidence in me
B strikes the right balance of relaxed but successful and confident. D is perfectly acceptable but dull. C feels a little too relaxed, while A looks overly edited or filtered.
Option B looked the best. Option D, looked professional which made it appealing. Option C's photo looked more natural than option A.
I would say B because it's the clearest image.
I prefer option B. It is a friendly and professional looking photo. I would expect this person to be honest and down to earth.
Options B and D are by far the best ones. Not only are they the clearest but they are also the most professional looking I like the suit but the reason I put number one as that is because it's just a good clean cut look the other 2 are funny angles too
B has the perfect angle, looks genuine, trustworthy. C is friendly and honest looking but is small and sort of hard to gauge the body language for trustworthiness. D is professional looking for sort of stiff and businesslike, which is hard to get a sense of honesty and realness, relatability. A is a wonderful smile but the angle and closeness is almost too eager and overbearing. The image is also extremely sharp and uncomfortable, like I am talking to him way too closely.
CREDIBILITY and RELATABLE don't always go together, but you've trying for a mix of these two, I'd stick with Option B.
Option D is the typical business suit photo which is the problem. We want business advice from someone who is above wearing a business suit. We want the entrepreneur, coach, and business savvy guy who has the freedom. That’s why Option B is best. Option C is my personal favorite but we don’t see enough of the shirt and the photo is taken at an angle. I prefer a straight picture.
I would say D because of the suit and professional look, but I think he would get more attention to his book with B. I like the beard its a clear picture its very clear and a good size photo and it also can be professional. Nice pics
Option B was the best. It looked very inviting and professional. Option D was good, too. I would not use options C or A. Option C was too loud and aggressive and option A was a poor quality photo.
I really love B because this image looks a lot more natural to me and I love seeing them outside. It feels a lot more realistic to me. From there, I like C because it still looks natural to me. D is before A though because A looks too edited and bold for me
choices b & c are more natural headshots among the choices
I think that the B headshot is the best because the man looks relatable because of what he is wearing. The beard also helps make him like a person I would know and relate to, not a white collar above the rest kind of guy. However, the photography quality and framing of the image make it also seem professional.
the professional headshots are the only two i would consider. the bottom two i ranked are scary looking.
I think the beard looks my credible as the clean shaven looks to generic and trying to hard
I like the bigger shot but I also like to see something that is more professional looking which gives them credability
Option B seems like the best one-- approachable, friendly, etc. My alternate choice would be Option D for the professionalism.
B looks the most put together professional yet approachable casual person to me. C is good but a little too casual and D is too business nonpersonable to me. A looks haggard and rough, worn out....I want inspiration! :)
5 Responses to Option C
I like C the best because it looks the most friendly and confident. Then B still looks good but slightly less so. Then D is acceptable but is too generic, then A looks creepy and weird. So C, B, D, A.
Option C had a photo that looked friendly and cheerful. Option D looks professional and trustworthy. Option B was acceptable, but not quite as friendly as Option C. Option A was too up-close, too large.
Option C and A. I like it the best and think it looks most professional. Nice pictures.
While there is some merit in having a realistic background, I prefer the simple backdrop of a single color. Some close-up details are appropriate as long as it's not too close up.
It looks the most relatable and friendly. I don't like the background but the headshot is best. The second is the most professional attire but doesn't stand out in any way. Both the last 2 have a necklace showing which I don't like.

I will be honest, I only really ranked based on the perceived attractiveness of each photo/individual.
I personally like scruff, but clean shaven is more professional, as is a collared shirt.
D i like because out of all the options it looks the most professional and experienced, B has a good balance between casual and professionalism that i think stands out really well and looks good, C is ok but i don't think it really feels business related and doesn't really look like it would fit with the books subject matter, A beyond the frankly bizarre lighting effects and uncanny valley looks this photo has i don't really think it looks like it belongs anywhere near something related to business
D looks the best as it is the most professional looking, and gives me the most trust.
I think option D looks the best because of the suit and tie which looks professional.
D seems the most credible and professional looking to me
D is a simple formal image, it's what I expect, though it's maybe too formal depending on the target market. B is also great, it looks a bit more casual but still trustworthy and personal. The bit of necklace makes the person seem a little laid back. C looks poorly cropped, like a low-quality social media profile picture. A is too close up, it seems casual but unnaturally edited in a way that makes it seem off-putting or makes me feel uncomfortable looking at it for too long.
The suit really sticks out and makes you look more professional. I think the shaven face also fits the mood you are trying to go for.
Option D with the suit makes this option the most professional option and look. Option B is professional looking even without the suit and the beard which is cleanly trimmed. Options A and C are ok, but the photo quality and the looks in the photos aren't great.
I like the professional outfit and the great smile in option D.
For coaching I would trust the person wearing the suit over the others as a professional over the others here.
I prefer the option D coaching personal image because I think the suit and the shaved face makes this person look like they have more credibility than the other bearded images. I chose options B and C second and third because I like the collared shirt more than the thin green sweater shirt design. I chose option A last because I do not like this gray color shirt as much with the messy beard.
The first image I chose is the most credible looking and the most well shot here
I like D the best because it's the only picture where he looks like an actual professional. Then I like B the best next because he looks friendly and relatable. Then it's a big jump down to A, which has horrible editing/filtering (HDR? sharpening? saturation? idk). And C is the worst. He looks like a homeless man (albeit with a nice haircut) with crazy eyes. I would actively avoid this man.
I'd go clean shaven and suit for a book like this. It's S.O.P., I think.
Option D is the best. I can see someone like this promoting a book. They look business type material
After carefully studying and comparing all four headshot images displayed above for a coaching and professional development book, I selected Option D as my first preference for representing credibility, relatibility, experience and desirability for me to purchase this book. I felt that this headshot just jumped right out at me as having the most eye catching appeal and influence on me personally. Option B was my second choice followed by Option C and finally Option A with all four rankings based on my own personal opinion of the relative attractiveness of each headshot image.
Option D seems to be more professional and neat. It will be the best picture for a book. other options seems to be more casual and blurry
I like option D the best because I think that the headshot showing the person wearing the suit projects someone who represents their self in a way that shows they are a professional.
Option D because its the most professional looking one
I like D because I like how professional it looks with the suit. It looks more credible than the other ones to me.
D: If im looking for professional development i want the author to try and look professional. This has the right amount of professionalism without looking stuffy or boring.C: This one has the most dynamic motion, it kind of looks like he's mid-stride walking over to shake my hand. He seems really excited but it's not so casual that it looks unprofessional.B: This one is really boring and generic, it doesnt inspire confidence.A: This one seems super casual like this was taken at a frat party. I dont know why i would want life advice from this guy.
This is the most professional looking of the individuals which fits with what you want your coach to be.
Suit and tie always looks respectable and short of the jacket, at least a collared shirt. Gold chain showing is hit or miss. Can be nice but can look like mafia, so depends. No collarless shirts and A is TOO close.
D or B are the best. Depends if you want the suit or not. A is terrible, C is ok, but others are better.
I like the business suit since it’s business related. I think it is the most professional looking and seeing as though it they are an authoring a business coaching book it only seems apply to be dressed in business attire. It does make the author come off much more credible.
I think you need a conventional business appearance even if you're not selling a conventional business strategy.
Not A at all, it really stands out as bad. First one is great and I would use it.
I think the clean cut look and professional attire used in D made it by far the most effective headshot for this purpose.
Option D looks the most professional and would work for all businesses, formal or informal. Option B still looks like a professional photograph, albeit a little more casual. C is pleasant enough but looks more like a selfie. A simply looks like a cell phone picture and it is a little hard to take seriously for a business book.
I think the tea is the best option as it looks, the most professional, and for best use for career wise
I like the clean shaven look in a businessman/professional.
Only D looks professional. The others look like a dating app profile pic with beard too long or too scraggly looking.
I prefer option D because it looks more professional.
D looks like the most professional to me and someone who I could potentially trust.
Although I am not favorable on any of the headshots I selected the one displaying the individual in a suit. It makes him look more professional and credible.
The reason why I choose option D is because I like how this headshot would makes him look more professional as a business coach in which I like buying that looks professional. The reason why I choose option B is because I like this headshot is the right size for the front of the book, but I wish it looks more professional. The reason why I choose option C is because I like how he uses plain background for the headshot in which this headshot very different from the rest of the headshot. The reason why I choose option A is because I like how he makes this headshot a lot bigger than other ones, but I don't the blurred background of the headshot.
I like option D because to me it looks the most professional and relatable. Option B and C feel quite decent as well. Option A feels too casual for me.
D it looks professional. B this one looks best though.
This one looks the most well kept and professional
I chose D because it is the most professional looking. The man is wearing a suit and is clean shaven. The man is centered in the photo, and the photo looks like it was professionally taken.
Option d unshaven and in a suit gives me the most confidence and trust.Call me old fashioned
I think a professional photo with the person in a suit has some credibility
I thought D looked more professional than the others.
When they take head shot photos for books they are usually professional so I chose by the most professional looking
The choice is an easy one, and that is D. It really looks professional and credible. The others are too casual.
D with the cleanshaven face looks more professional. The beard in B looks better groomed. The beard in C looks like it belongs to a college junior, and A looks more like a tennis player than a business professional.
Due to the professional clothing in the photo in option D I prefer this for my first choice for a business coaching & professional development bookSecond is option B because of the casual look which seems very invitingThird is option C because of the smileFourth is A because of the cheerful smile but the clothing in option D makes it seems as if he is very knowledgeable
''D" is the most professionally looking person. A beard is not ideal.
The suit and clean shaven look appear to be the most professional look for me.
I like the suit and tie. I think it makes the author looks the most credible and professional which makes them seem more trustworthy
D looks more professional because of the suit, the tie, and the lack of a beard.
