I WOULD BE PERFECTLY HAPPY WITH A 10% INCREASE TO FUND THIS KIND OF HELP AND EXPEDITING
I don't think this step would be necessary if being honest
I would want them to advocate for me to keep the cost of the procedures down. If the can do that I would be very happy paying them because I would be saving on the other end
Yes, I think that it's very important to have all the information when having a medical emergency.
I would be okay with an increase if it was around 5%.
I wouldn't need this additional feature because hospital costs are expensive enough as it is
I think maybe a 5% increase if this is significantly going to help the patient have an advocate.
It depends on my circumstances. I personally think I would be able to handle all communications but if I were very traumatized or if there were a language barrier or if I were in a foreign city, then I would want the help. It would be useful to rely on someone who knows the system and might be able to ask questions I did not think about. It could provide some comfort.
NO not at all. The cost is already too much!
communication is so important so I would be willing to pay 10% more to know what is going on with my loved one.
I would probably not find it useful enough to pay extra for it, unless there were extenuating circumstances. I am a nurse and very comfortable communicating in the healthcare setting. I would say there is about a 20% chance I would be in favor of using this service.
Honestly, not at this point. I want my healthcare costs as cheap as possible and feel like I can advocate just fine for myself and loved ones without an extra person being involved.
We had these at our emergency room, and it didn't do much to help the situation. It was just more paperwork and redundancies that didn't speed up anything. So, no.
Yes, If the cost will increase for just a little bit, I will be fine with a person who can assist me with all the medical stuff, medical billing and etc. This person may know how to make my bill smaller. But I am not ready to pay a lot for that, because you don't know what kind of service you'll get at the end.
No, I would not be in favor of that if my costs were to increase because an event like this would already cost me enough and likely bankrupt me. I would rather just be there to be with and communicate with my loved one myself.
No, because most have social case workers that help you. But if they didnt have a social worker to help me i would probably ask for one to help me and my family, i may pay like 10% more
I would like to be able to have someone to communicate with a loved one but the medical industry in the US is already grossly overpriced. I would already be worried enough about being able to afford the hospital care without adding on costs.
Either the person is going to be okay or they're not, I don't frankly want to know the details and I don't need to spend extra to get them sooner or better.
I would accept 15 perfecent increase
It would be nice to have help if I needed it and I am sure there are those who do really need this. I dont think I would but maybe in the future. These services are beneficial for society.
Yes, in alot of cases a life could be saved by information the family member can provide. I do not like paying extra for that though.
Nope. That is just one more way to start increasing prices for an already out of control cost scenario.
I would love that personally because it makes it less scary but the cost increase is not favored. I would take maybe a 5% increase for it, otherwise I may not want it
I would be interested if the increase in cost was around 1-5% at a maximum or if it was covered by the health insurance.
I think it would be worth it as long as it only increased by 1%.
No. Healthcare is already expensive and I don't want any extra costs.
I feel like in areas where you don't have expertise you should get out of the way and let others do their job. I don't think I need someone to talk to whose job it is to tell the medical staff what I think, and I don't see how that could improve patient care.
Yes, I would like to have a healthcare caseworker. I would be in favor of a 10-15% increase. An healthcare caseworker is needed because the hospital forms and procedures need to clarified
I Might BUT I am poor, if it's not covered by insurance, I certainly couldn't afford it. It would have to be covered by medicaid, or medicare, this is what covers my home, otherwise I'm stuck, waiting it out, nervously.
No, the American health care system is the worst in the world and I don't think I'd want a cost increase regardless of the situation.
I wouldn’t want the cost to increase. We already pay enough for ER visits. I know enough about the medical field to feel confident understanding everything
Yes because I would suggest it this way so I can have a better mind and can think of more because someone is helping and I want to add 10% for helping me in my needs.
I don't think I would. While in theory it sounds great- I am just not sure how it would work in a positive manner.
I think caseworkers should be included in the cost without cost increase. They should be able to be a patient advocate but also connect them to resources beyond what they are there for like assistance with cost, job assistance, housing, and money. Let's face it, if someone does not have their needs met, they aren't going to recover as well as someone who does. Additionally, medical care is complex and medical staff does not always listen so that caseworker needs to be that person who makes sure the patient is listened to and understands everything so they can get the best care possible.
I would be in favor of it as long as my insurance covered it or it wasn't more than 5% or so more out of pocket. It seems like a useful option to have.
I think that it would depend on the reason myself or a loved one were in an emergency room at a hospital and how complicated the necessary treatments are. I also think that it would depend on whether or not the healthcare caseworker's services were covered by insurance or not.
I cannot afford the prices as they are much less with an increase.
I would like to have this service but only if it would result in myself or a loved one receiving prompt and timely information and care. For example if there was an urgent need for something I would expect this caseworker to be their ASAP and to go get the needed help ASAP. I would pay upwards of 30 dollars per hour based on the prorated time that the caseworker actually was with us or on immediate standby.
No, this doesn't sound like a reasonable service. I would not be interested in spending more money in such a circumstance.
Yes, I would be in favor of having access to a healthcare caseworker even if costs were to increase in the amount of 10%.
Yes I strongly support this and say 75%
I think if this was implemented correctly it would be a useful service. I don't think I would be willing to pay extra, as healthcare is already very expensive. A couple years ago my husband was in critical condition and it was extremely difficult to communicate with the nurses and doctors, I understand they were busy saving his life, but I felt left in the dark. I think it would have been nice to have someone to talk to so that I was aware what was happening and better able to advocate for his care.
No, because who ever the case worker talks to will tack on extra charges to even talk to them.
I think it definitely depends. If I have to pick a percentage. Then 5%, but this isn't something I generally want to pay a premium for.
No, I think the costs would be insanely high for this service, so I would not want it.
It's already too expensive. It would be nice, but honestly, the hospital should be not charging so much for services.
Hospital and medical prices are high enough already, making it even higher is not the way to go in this economy.
That would be a fantastic thing to have. It is hard enough waiting on answers from doctors and nurses about a loved ones care. I would be willing to pay and increase up to 25%.
I would love it to be covered by medical insurance. Medical bills are already expensive and I don't think many of us can afford the extra help.
If I were alone without family, it would be a good option to have someone with me in the ER to help me advocate for myself and make sure that I am treated right. I would like to have that option. I think charging a flat fee for this service is better than charging a percentage of the patient's visit. The reason I think this is because the caseworker is doing the same amount of work no matter what my health problem is, and healthcare costs are grossly inflated anyway. This should be more affordable. I think it should cost $100-200.
