If you were considering a suspense novel, which book cover is more compelling?
30 Responses to Option A
simple and bold. very creative and has a feel to it.
I really like the DNA-strand-into-noose graphic. It's very striking.
It looks more interesting and I love how the noose is red
I think the simpler cover is nicer and more appealing.
I chose option A because I prefer that cover.
I picked A because the noose in red is dramatic and intruiging.
This book title looks less creepy and makes me want to read this particular book.
I like A better...it's simple, but intriguing. It makes me wonder if it's going to be genetically modified people, clones or what. Now I wanna read it!
This instills a bit more appeal in me. I have more interest sparked from this one.
I like the noose. It's simpler and I think it's more compelling through its simplicity. I leaves more to the imagination.
In my opinion, the less the objects, the more thoughtful the book cover. The one in Option A only shows an object which seems to be a human DNA. It is thoughtful and worth of reading.
A is more attention grabbing. It conveys the tone of the book quickly.
The layout is more simplistic and easier to digest. The second option provides a lot of depth but it's a lot to look at at one time.
I like the simplicity, it's much more eye catching with the splash of color.
I love A it has the DNA strands in a noose which makes we want to find out why and what happened. B seems a little generic and uninteresting.
I chose A because the minimalist design on the cover with the noose and bold colors (black and red) really draws your attention. B looks too busy.
I think there is something very ominous and eye catching about what looks like DNA twisting into a noose. The colors also add a sense eeriness to the cover.
I like the mystery and suspense created by the image in A, B is a little too complicated and has too many aspects to it for my taste
B seems like a relgious or some medieval time history book. A feels more modern
Option A looks a little more creepy and intriguing for a suspense novel, which I like. The other choice leads me to believe that the book is religiously based, but I am not religious, so it doesn't interest me as much.
Choice A is more eye-catching and it is easier to read the title/author's name.
The dna image is easier to understand. B looks like the afterlife
I chose Option A because it is just a jarring image, the DNA strand turning into a noose. And it seems to match the title. Option B just says this might be a religious book somehow. Option A is interesting and makes me want to find out more about the book.
this looks much more mysterious
A is very eye-catching and would pique my interest
The symbolism is very intriguing.
Even though I find the noose imagery distasteful, the red/black combo screams suspense and even a little horror. The font from B is a little better, but both work fine.
I think the imagery is simple, yet way more dark. I would definitely gravitate toward this book!
The cover is simple but intriguing.
I actually don't really like either one of these because I have no idea what the book is about. #A leads me to think it's about 'give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves' perhaps by damaging DNA. #B actually makes me think of the movie Twelve Monkeys, like the wild animals roaming about looking up at the gothic architecture.

Seems more intriguing to me
Choice B more evokes a feeling of the supernatural and possible religious topics. I think it's more intriguing than choice A.
I like this because this photo could have so many different meanings, and especially with a suspense novel, it would make the reader think more.
i like the colors better
The second book cover is less threatening. The noose on book cover A is sad. Real art work is much more compelling on book covers.
B is much more unique and interesting. The DNA helix is really over-used in suspense novel covers.
The picture of Christ is a much more appropriate picture for anyone with a religious background so I think that is the better cover
This one looks more involved and suspenseful
Choice B has so much more going on. It makes you curious as to what the book is about.
i love the dark, gothic carvings. very intriguing!!
i would be more intrigued with this cover. the other has a background that's hard to pick out at a glance
This is very intense and emotional.
Choice B is a lot more eye catching than Choice A. I love the detail in it. If I was in a book store looking at different options for books, I would definitely pick up this book first and review it to see if I wanted to buy it.
It was very scary for the pick.
Option B looks like it would be a pretty epic novel filled with religious themes, I'd be more interested in that.
The other one looks to simple for me.
Both covers are very compelling, but I am drawn to the lighter one. I think it might have a better ending.
B is just so much more detailed and cool looking. Option A just is so boring and plain. I wouldn't give A a second glance in a store.
It is more engaging with more to look at
I would be more intrigued about what is going on in the image and would pick up the book with choice b to learn more.
