I would buy book A because I am a Jane Austen fan. For those not familiar with her, it makes the book sound sophisticated which could either be a plus or minus in their eyes. The write up for option B could be for any romance book. There is really nothing to distinguish it from the herd.
If you know you like books like prose and prejudice you’d like to know this one is similar to that. The actual story line isn’t as important to me as knowing what kind of book to expect.
Option B tries to convey drama at the expense of grammar, which makes me think the book may be poorly written. I find the idea of the exploration of a wider variety of social class in option A intriguing.
Choice A tells the reader what they can expect which is an interesting story that encompasses difficult subjects. Choice B seems more like just a little romance novel and does not appear to have too much depth to it. Choice A seems like it weaves a lot of reality in the story while B just glosses over some subject matter.
A is the one I find the most intriguing--love Jane Austen.
This story deals with grief ,bigotry and family loyalty. I believe this would be a interesting story to read.
They both seem great but I’m reading all the Bridgestone novels right now and would want A, it sounds like a mix of Austen and Quinn.
A provides more in depth characters so they become your friend while reading. B just seemed to describe the same tired romance nove.
I think that option A does a better job of instantly pulling people in by talking about Jane Austen. I'm someone who loves Jane Austen so to be able to read another book that is similar to her work is a great thing. I also like that they point out that this book covers more people than just the main people of the story. Option B sounds too much like other books that have been put out and I actually care to read about Kitty in option A, but not in B.
A sounds intriguing, unique, interesting, and a true adventure.
I prefer option A because it is more of a beginning story of Kitty life and how was at a later age in life. I prefer to start from the beginning in order to get a better understanding about how people make decisions.
i think this option is more interested in detailed
I’m not sure the guy in the other story deserves a second chance
it was more appealing to me
I don't like the choppy short sentences of the other paragraph
I am a Jane Austen fan, so that part alone grabs my attention. B reads like a Hallmark Channel movie description and that for me is a turn off. Despite trying not to sound predictable, it is. I am tired of strong heroin in the boy gets girl, boy loses girl scenerio. A reads more like a novel based in a real time with real settings and people that read like persons I could have met. Interesting storyline and intersting characters.
A is more interesting to me. It captures the imagination from the first line. Takes you into anothe place from the beginning.
A because it seems like a review while B sounds like an ad.
I could not follow at all what B was about and it bored me
A flows better, but I would use the name twice at the beginning. For the second sentence try "Although this novel". Also tell us the best friend's name.
very descriptive and I liked that it stresses a point of reference author at the end

Option B make me want to read the book the most. Option B reads like I actually know the characters. I feel like I am part of the story.
I like the way the book is described in option B, it makes it sound more interesting and I think that it describes it well, so I want to know what happens. I don't like how option A starts right off comparing it to another book, I'd rather know about the actual book first, and maybe some book and author comparisons at the end.
I loved how the opening jumped right into the character descriptions since this put me right into the thick of the storyline.
I like this one more because the description of the women sounds fun and lighthearted. It feels more relatable and I like how it tells the story like I am following around and part of the story versus being an overlooker and outsider.
I chose option B because the storyline sounded more realistic.
I chose option B because it puts me in the book better. The story is clear and I have a sense of who the main character is.
I chose B because the blurb draws me in. It's sweet and to the point. I really like the way it encompasses everything I need to know about the book. It's a great look at a great book! I think it has a ton of potential and a blurb of this quality only manages to highlight the potential.
i like this description for the book better because I am more interested in Kitty's story and how it ends, it's intriguing
Definitely option B, the description is more appealing and makes it sound more intriguing and romantic
This option was easier to read. I like that it starts with a young woman and a lieutenant. She is a strong willed female.
this is more captivating and interesting to read
I chose B because I like the description and how the story outline is told. Reading this intro made me want to read the book.
They the way the description of the book was detailed.
Even though I do like Jane Austen and the highlights of A, B sounds the most entertaining to me inspite of it's awkward beginning. I would be very interested in reading about the characters in B.
It gives brief intro of the story while A talks more about the author and his previous works. The story seems to be interesting to read and helps to understand what kind of story it is about and the main character.
when I began reading A, it just lost me in the first few sentences. Reading B, I read thru to the end. I would definitely read B.
I don't care for option A because it tells the reader how they will feel, and compares it to other books like Jane Austen's. It's much more engaging in option B because that really introduces you to the characters and helps you to care a little bit about them and be interested in their lives.
I like that B gives you some of the story to pique your interest. A uses all the generic words ("twist and turns" ) to try to get your interest, but it doesn't work.
B tells you what the book is about in the first few lines which is all normally what a person will read before they make the decision to buy a book. I may have picked up A but it would be back on the rack before I even finished the first line.
B is more exciting and tells me more about the plot and what I will be reading and experiencing. Option A reads like a review, its more of the reader's opinion than information about the book.
The description in option B, sounds more interesting and relatable
B immediately sounds more interesting to me, it gets right into the story. A sounds more like a pitch to a publisher.
It appealed to me from the first sentence. I like romance and love stories and this description grabbed me
I love a good romance novel. This draws the reader in and making me want to read more!!
The description feels less wordy and more down to earth. I also get a good sense of the characters stories and what the book is about. It's more straightforward and draws me in right away.
I voted for B because I think that it is the description that will attract the younger generation of readers but think that A would attract those readers who already had read great authors like Jane Austen.
A sounds extremely boring while B sounds exciting.
B had a better flow and captured my interest from the first line. They other bored me
This one is more personal
A seems more like a book review rather than a book description. B has me massively intrigued and wishing that I could purchase this book right now! It is well thought out, and written in a way that leaves me wanting more, so I would of course pick up the book and devour it.
B does a better job of capturing the personality and motivations of the main character, Kitty.
I like B better because it is much more descriptive of the story than A is. It is easier to follow and it sounds interesting and just reading about what the story is about made me want to find out more. It much more describes the characters and the events that take place and gives you something to look forward to. I was much more into reading about B than A.
I chose Choice B because it gives you an look into the life of the heroine. Enough to make you want to read the book, whereas Coice A was very bland and did nothing in the way of enticing you to read the book.
I chose B over A because it sounds like it would be a good story. I think there is going to be some romance in it and who doesn't like a good romance story?!
I picked B because it is, while a bit over detailed, a synopsis that captures the spirt of the book. A is incredibly pretentious and reads like a review. I stopped reading a few sentences in because it bored me so much. It requires you to have read another book, which I have, but not everyone has. The idea should be to sell the novel your showing, not make the reader feel less than for not catching the references to others. I get nothing about the story from A.
B sounds more interesting! the sentences and words are in better order and easier to understand too.
B started describing the book as a book reads, while A was more like a literary style description.
Not a fan of Jane Austin, and never read Pride and Prejudice. So I wouldn't buy any book compared to that. B, on the other hand describes a novel that sounds interesting and fun. I would rather read about what is in the book than how it compares to another book.
This is a tough one because I initially said B, and then changed to A because I like the detailed explanation about the struggles of life detailed in the book.
I like B because I like the dramatic notes about the romance with the man who might not be right for the protagonist. I like the “opposites attract” description of the romance. The other option almost reads more like a nonfiction.
I feel like this one is easier to follow and understand and it makes more sense to me.
I chose(B) because it went into more detail about the relationship between kitty, and her love interest, it read like a real romance novel, and it peaked your interest to read more, and find out if kitty will have true happiness in her life.
B is much more engaging. The wording is more conversational. I feel like A is pretty dry.
A is more of a background information regarding the characters and series so to speak. B is much more engaging and exciting with the use of language . I t is much more capturing and grabs your attention. However, I do like the last line of Book A that helps to see the deal . So if you combine the two all of B with last line of book A choice that would seal the deal.
I love the beginning of Choice B and that is why I chose it. The first two sentences lured me in as it sounds like a romantic novel.
I like that it describes the book instead of compares it to another one. I want to know what the plot will be so more information about that is important to me.
I like that it gave you a generic genre of roman with strong willed protagonist, instead of relying on my ability to know who jane austen is.
I prefer B. It seems more interesting and also doesn't have the offensive word g*psy
A sounds like a book report and B sounds like a real marketing ad.
It’s much easier to understand.
Description B describes the actual plot and characters versus description A. Description A seems more general, like something in a book review publication instead of the actual description I would expect to read on the book's back cover or its Amazon/Barnes and Noble listing.
I would choose B as a fun book to read at the beach as an escape. Book A sounds like it might be too much intellectual work for a summer novel.
I chose Option B, because this snippet is more of a story preview, compared to Option A which feels more like a book review. I actually don't really think either of these descriptions are very well written and neither of them inspire me to want to buy this book. I have little desire to read the book at all from these snippets, even though I enjoy Regency-era romance novels.
I chose B because when I read a book I want to know about the characters and the type of problems they will be facing. I am not really interested in knowing if it is like another author unless it is a parody of their work. Choice A is better written than choice B. Even though I chose choice B it reads like it was written by someone who is not a native English speaker.
Easier to read and comprehend. Option A was more difficult to read and not interesting
The reason why I choose option B is because it looks to me that this book is more romantic to me. I like to emerge myself into the story and live it like it would be live
B seems easier to read and understand.
Choice B was by far the better blurb and it drew me in. Right away it asks a question, which engages the reader. Then it talks about the heroine's ups and downs and conflicts to getting what she wants, all the while giving good insight to the setting and the character.
The way B is written makes me want to pick it up and read it. It is selling the book better because it really captivated the reader.
It's hard to compare a writer to Jane Austen and still think people will read.
A description of the book should include a description of characters and perhaps their trials and tribulations. Choice B does just that and lures you into the book. Choice A just does not have that same appeal and is very dry reading.
I like when a description starts with setting the characters and the location of the book.
I chose Choice B Because I am a hopeless romantic. The way this summary explains the story I feel the romance, I am excited by the romance, I want to know what happens with Kitty and her romantic partner. This summary points out the romance of the story more than choice A. This choice makes me want to read the story. it also asks the question "...can Kitty secure the type happiness she's always desired"? Asking me this questions makes me want to answer "I don't know but I am going to BUY this book and finds out"! Choice A doesn't ask any questions of me although I will say Choice A is beautifully written.
Option A used some wording ("maintain interest" etc.) that made me skeptical of how interesting the book actually is. Option B actually described the plot and made me interested in what might happen in the end.
Option B sounds more romantic. Option A sounds like it's more historic. I know it has a lot of the same words, but considering where the words are, I read it as top to bottom, the top MORE, bottom, bottom, LESS.
I'm not usually a Regency England genre reader, and the comparison to Jane Austen in A would automatically turn me away from reading the book. Also, I much prefer that there is a description of the story in B, where as A reads more like a review then a description. While in the end I doubt I would read the book, B would at least have me thinking about it.
I like choice B the best. I like the description of it better.
While this sounds like a typical romance novel, option B lays out the characters, the story line and plot. I am not fond of option A with its comparison to a classic novel
I love a good love story and the first two lines of this description seem to be setting this book up for that!
it is more catchy
I prefer B because it seemed more exciting (I think the sentence structure helped add to its appeal). A also seemed more factual and boring and I felt like I was reading a customer review rather than an exciting overview of the book.
This tells you the plot in a straightforward manner instead of using complicated words and phrases.
Option B has a lot more passion and emotion in it. You see more of the actual story in option b not just the outline with vague details like in option A. Honestly option A bored me and I couldnt read it fast enough to be done with it while thinking I hope option B is better. Thankfully it was! I would give the book a read after seeing option B but if I only saw A it would probably be a pass.
I have to admit that I liked both descriptions for different reasons. I like that "A" tells you what other books/authors that the book is similar to. I picked "B", because I like how it gets right to what the heart of the book is about and grabs you and makes you want to read the book to find out what happens to them.
I would buy both books because they both seems interesting and the story line is pretty similar. I would say it is the same story but I will chose B because it started of with a spirited girl which makes it appealing.
This option seems like a true description or preview of a really good novel. It seems like other back cover synopsis of a romance novel.
OPtion B makes me feel I am getting to know the characters and want to read the book already.
I like both descriptions but chose B because it provided more detail about the potential romance between Kitty and the lieutenant.
i voted for b because it sounds more intriguing !
