Which book title is better?
Option B won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 27 votes after 2 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 |
---|---|---|
B | 44% 22 votes | 54% 27 votes +5 |
C | 40% 20 votes | 46% 23 votes +3 |
A | 16% 8 votes | Eliminated 8 votes reassigned |

C just doesn't evoke any emotion whtasoever about me, too plain and boring. Option A is a simple, but powerful title.
Insignficance is good because I want to see what is insigificant and what it is about. The factory above the jail leads me to wonder what kind of factory and why is it above a jail . One is buried is okay but no one wants to be buried or talk about burial.
I like "Insignificance" of option A the most. Its quick, but heavy and can encompass in one word what the book is about. Its kind of mysterious and I like that. Second is option B which is also a little mysterious but not as slick as option A. It feels unique too. Option C is my last choice. It just didnt grab me and sounded a little boring
It's a very simple title but I feel it works but also depends on what the book is about
Option A leaves a lot to the imagination also option C is intriguing so it option B but option A is my favorite
Honestly it is hard to choose a title without knowing what the book is about. Each title could be good based on the description.
1. Insignificance: I like this title because it is a single word with a strong tone and meaning. While admittedly ambiguous, the title already frames the content of the book as either a fictional or real life struggle against insignificance and the pursuit of meaning. The choice of a more advanced vocabulary word for the title also gives the impression that this book is going to be written for a well-read, adult audience and have more meaty and substantive content and writing.2. Option C: While not compelling or sharply worded, "The Factory Above the Jail" is at least straight to the point, and gives us a general idea of setting and potentially plot, which is important to work with when selecting a book. With this title, I'm not expecting an eloquent literary masterpiece, but I am expecting a straightforward and well told story or series of arguments.3. Option B sounds really awkward, not sure if it's the use of the passive voice ("buried") or the word order. It doesn't help foreshadow the content or theme of the book, and just sounds confusing, so unless there's some other compelling information to work with, this is not a title that's going to draw me in to examine the book more closely.
Jail is not a good title.

It makes me curious about what they are burying and how they go about it.
Option B sounds incredibly intriguing. It sounds like a very dramatic story that I would like to know more about. Option A has a very classic feel to it, like it could be a very epic story being told. Option C does not sound very exciting at all and does not tell me anything about the story other than describing a location.
I like B because I think it's intriguing and it gets my attention first. I like C somewhat but it doesn't get my attention like C. A I don't really care for at all.
I think B is mysterious enough to get my interested and not too wordy. A is simple, which I like but leaves me a little confused on what the story could be about. C is too on the nose and long.
Option B pops out as more intense/eye catching sine it jumps right into someone dying. Option C is interesting as there will probably be some exciting escape or something is going on at that factory that shouldn't be. Option A is pretty generic and doesn't stand out.
Option B, had me the most intrigued and it sounded super dramatic. Option A, I ranked second because it was short but dramatic sounding. Option C, I found to be a slightly boring title, it didn't really have me curious about the book all that much.
They all have mystery and intrigue in them but I chose B. I like "One of Us Buried."
it's engaging and captivating to want me to read more
B seems very intriguing and intense and gets my interest a lot. C seems descriptive and somewhat interesting. A feels really generic and not very descriptive and makes me think the book is probably gloomy and not well written.
The third choice just screamed no, because it makes it look desparate for attention.
the only bad one is A. it's really insignificant. no pun intended. B makes me curious
B: sounds of mystery and suspense, I could imagine a book titled like that to keep me interested and excited as I read through it.C: again, somewhat sounds of mystery, the title makes you think and imagine what the book could be about but it's not nearly as exciting sounding as B is.A: Could go a lot of ways itself but it sounds somewhat potentially depressing. Which is really just me judging a book by it's title it just doesn't grab my attention or imagination like the first two.
B is a really interesting concept. It gives you a clue without giving anything away. A is good too but it’s a little vague by itself. Not really feeling C
The title"One of Us Buried" is very strong and personal. This house hard and makes you think. Best title and most intriguing. I highly like it and think it's a wonderful read based on that.
B sounds mysterious, and scary. C sounds grim, but interesting. A sounds like the name of something I've already read.
B peaked my interest and made me want to check it out. A was more of a meh title
I am super interested in learning more about one of us buried. it has more potential meaning than any of the other two choices.
I chose the tittle that makes me the most curious. The tittle I chose makes me ask questions, wanting to know more. The other two are also interesting depending on plot, but this one that I chose is way above the rest
In order of intrigue and curiosity, I would rank B, C, then A. The single word title in A has much too little to go on. C is interesting in terms of unusualness, and B seems the most ominous which is attractive.
I like when the title can describe a little about the book so I assume someone is getting buried. I than think Insignificance is slight ly better than the last title I liked was The Factory above the jail.
One of Us Buried is a legitimately awesome book title, it both sounds interesting and cool. I like the vagueness of A over the slightly uninteresting title of C.
I think that B sounds mysterious and scary. Option A sounds very bleak and interesting.

I enjoy the creativity that goes into making those names in that order
The Factory Above The Jail could be both an interesting non-fiction book and a mystery/noir. One of Us Buried has some poetry in the title. Insignificance is far too vague
I find option C most intriguing and interesting, which is generally what I look for in a book...something different.
I like "The Factory Above the Jail" because it makes me wonder just enough to decide to read it.
I think that option C is the most attention grabbing title. I would be most likely to grab a book with this title to read the back and find out more info.
I'm intrigued by C since I'm curious whether the factoryworkers know that they work above a jail and why the factory was built there. B also intrigues me since I'm interested in why one person in the group has died. A is way too vague for me to get a sense of what the book is about.
3 is horrible. It is nondescript, pretentious, and garbage. 1 and 2 are slightly better because they make sense. However, they are nondescript and kind of garbage
I liked both B and C but I think C won out a little bit as it sounds like a young adult fantasy novel and would be exactly something that I'd like. B has an interesting net of stories it can refer to. I didn't really like how vague option A's was.
I like option C the most because it sounds the most memorable and unique. Option B isn't bad but a little cliche. Option A doesn't sound memorable at all.
The book title of option C is more appealing. Option C is well titled and well described, the description of option C is easier to understand.
the titles sound interesting and unique
C is the most interesting because it mentions jail which is interesting, B is the second choice for it might be a thriller according to the title, A is no.3 because it looks vague.
Seeing as I absolutely nothing about the book, this is a very hard question to answer, so I had to just go with what name I found more intriguing.
I choose C first because the title give the sound of a bit of mystery about it and consequently piqued my interest. B is next because it sounds very emphatic and makes one think what next. and A is last because it is just too bland
Not knowing what the book is about I would pick choice C because I think it is the most interesting title of the three and I would be very interested in finding out what it is about.
Choices A and B are a bit too straightforward while option C really invokes my imagination because I do no know what it means and I would want to learn more about it.
I mostly prefer the Option C because the title sounds very catchy and interesting to me, followed by B.
I really like the ring of option C. It makes me think of a mystery novel, which I am in the mood for at the moment.
My first choice is "The Factory Above the Jail." This gives me a vivid picture of an odd location, and makes me curious what happens there. My second choice is "One of Us Buried" because this sounds like a thriller, which is a type of book I like to read. The final title, "Insignificance" does not give me a mental picture, but it does make me think the book is about human experience.
Option A is a little too generic to be really memorable or eye catching. Option B makes you a little curious, but Option C blows that out of the water. You immediately become intrigued about what the title could mean, and it makes me want to at least research more about the book. It's also mentally memorable.
