Hi there! Which brand name do you prefer for a business that's into the power tools niches such as BOSCH, Milwaukee, or SKIL?
There was no majority winner of this Ranked poll after 2 rounds of vote counting. However, Option C and Option B had the most votes (25).
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 |
---|---|---|
B | 40% 20 votes | 50% 25 votes +5 |
C | 36% 18 votes | 50% 25 votes +7 |
A | 24% 12 votes | Eliminated 12 votes reassigned |

Hant sounds the most like a company name, like it's named after the founder. Crant just is kind of an unpleasant sound. Antive sounds more like a pain relief product.
i think hant in option A sounds the best for a manufacturer of power tools
Option A sounds like a reliable and established brand, making me semi-trust it right from the get go, where the other options sound a little generic.
I like option A because it's the shortest and easiest to remember. It's also the catchiest out of the options!
Option A is the most appealing overall. It rolls off the tongue naturally, and has a memorable name. It's simple, and has the potential to be a household type of brand name.
Chose A as it reads as the closest to the directive request.
It’s the most catchy and memorable. It has a good ring to it.
I picked A and C because they're single-syllable and more forceful/straightforward-sounding than B's option with two syllables and a vowel ending.
I like option A the best because HANT sounds like a natural name for getting something done to me.
I don't mind HANT, but ANTIVE sounds like ACTIVE and CRANT sounds vulgar for some reason.
Hant of the three names is catchy and easiest to remember
These are all poor names for a power tool brand. I would prefer something that is a memorable English word or phrase. CRANT and HANT are probably the the easiest to remember and say. HANT is my first choice because it is brief. ANTIVE is my last choice because there is more than one way to pronounce it and it's not clear what version is correct, nor is the name memorable.

I think B's Antive has the more unique sound to it, which is why i prefer it.
I choose "B" because ANTIVE is just a little more impressive.
Antive sounds more rugged, Hant is easier to pronounce and crant reminds me of cranberries and not tool related so I ranked it last.
I prefer the option B name because it sounds more premium and luxurious and sounds better. I chose option C second because the pronunciation of this name is more clear from the spelling. I chose option A last because it looks too similar to haunt, which is scary, and also has a difficult to understand pronunciation based on the spelling.
My ranking is entirely based on feeling, so I can't really explain why I chose the way I did.
I think B is the best name for a power tool brand because it is the most unique out of the three. That said, given the vowel, I am unsure of pronunciation! I do not care for C/A. I find them a bit weird to say, and the name does not flow well.
To be honest none of these make me think power tools. They don't sound super awesome and don't have a ring to it. If I have to put them in order of just these three options, I will go with B, A and then C but again none of these make me go wow.
I went with option B as my first choice, because "Antive" is easiest to pronounce, easiest to remember, and not super short of an acronym. Option A was my second choice, "Hant", as it was interesting and creative. Option C is my final choice, because "Crant" sounds too similar to "Crank", and it's not really creative. It does not flow like Antive does.
None of them really fit well or are "normal" Antive is the least unusual, A sounds like a slang word or someone mispronouncing haunt, C takes you to cramp until you look again
I am not a huge fan of any of these options but my first choice sounds the best of the three options given.
The bottom two, A and C, feels like they are either typos or the off brand of a more popular brand with the name. ALso, C sounds like something I would yell if I smashed my thumb. Leaves B as the sole decent one.
None of these are super great, but at least B sounds powerful and tough. The rest sound like insults.
Only one option is acceptable. IF you use either A or C you'll likely have problems. b though is OK. Antive sounds like a thing and NOT a bad one where the other two are quite bad. Crant sounds like Can't, (CANNOT) and this is NOT what you want people to associate with a tool. You want something that CAN not Can't. Hant sounds like Haunt, or "Haint". an old timey word associated with ghosts, and a vaguely racist term. Do you want your product associated with racism, Slavery, hoods, KKK? Nah, you probably don't so AVOID hant. It's likely that persons who aren't familiar with words or history will even feel their gut punch a bit at the use of this term and they won't necessarily know why but they WILL avoid buying your products. Even the segment of our country who DO embrace racism (sadly in my view... but I'm just one worker) will likely avoid this because they also will have a sort of aversion to embracing it or being SEEN with this tool. Antive sounds enough like Activate or Active to be a good fit for you though. Though I am one turker, please consider my warnings and rethink this. Thanks. Good luck.
I just went with my gut feeling as to the best one, but honestly all of them sound pretty bad
I really like the word in B, it makes me think of active. I don't love the word for C. Option A sounds lame when I say it out loud.
Out of all of them I like this one the best. Antive just sounds better than the others for a tool brand.
I cannot stand option A and C it sounds like what my grandpa would say when he can’t hear me “HANT?!” Terrible. I am not a big fan of option B either but it is the best of the bunch.
This options stands out. This was a very hard choice. I believe customers will remember this brand name more than the others.
ANTIVE the name was appealing very good will be easily accepted by peoples. Peoples will easily recognize it because it was very easy to read and understand.
Option B sounds like "active", being on the move and stopping at nothing.

C is more distinctive and doesn't sound a like a known word.
Seems to most likely fit with power tools and the other odd names of the brands.
I but crant first because the first part reminds me of "craft" and the overall sound is action-oriented. "Hant" sounded negative for some reason. I did not like Antive because "anti" is "against" so it gave off a very negative connotation. Overall I am not thrilled with any of these though.
I don't really understand how any of them are relatable to them. I would choose C first because it sounds the closest to craft which is something that I would want to do with all of those tools. I guess that would be the best for me
I do not like any of them so I ordered them in a way that I hated the most. A is terrible since it sounds like hunt which has nothing to do with the industry. I could not relate Antive to anything
I do gravitate towards the brands that are one syllable and kind of sound like an onomatopoeia of a tool being used. "Crant" gets the top spot because it sounds more like a word than "HANT." Antive is a fine brand name, it just seems to fit the category the least well.
This sounds the most like the brands listed here.
It sound like crank which is something that you hear when working with tools as you have to crank a lot of things.
I like C and A equally it clicks and sounds good and easy to remember. B sounds odd and disjointed and just does not work for me
They all sound pretty bad.
C sounded the best when I said them out loud
They are all really weird but oddly memorable because of how odd they and strange they are
None of these options really match the product type in my opinion but I chose by names that are easiest to say and understand.
I like the name in option C the best as it sounds the most novel and appealing.
To me, this option sounds most like a power tool brand. This name actually makes me think of a company that would produce these sorts of tools.
To be completely honest all of the names sound kind of dumb to me. I was only able to rank them according to how stupid they sounded. Antive is very weird and definitely doesn't sound catchy or anything so I put it last. I chose Crant over Hant mostly just because I just think I would see Crant as a brand name way before Hant. If it were up to me I would be looking elsewhere instead of just these three options.
Honestly, I don't like any of theses names. I would go with C out of these options. B is the worst because it reminds me of "antifa".
I liked the one syllable words best. They are strong and command attention. Champ, chomp, Strike, etc.
