If you are shopping for stone, tile, or countertops what name would make you more likely to choose this business?
Option B won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 55 votes after 4 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.

The stone shop shows that it has a solid foundation. It to me, means it is also unwavering and strong.
Option B is clear, simple, and to the point. That's exactly how I like it. I want most of my brain power to go toward picking out my stone product and not trying to figure out if the store/brand is relevant to my needs.
Options B and C are my preferred choices because they sound more professional and serious and after all this is a big investment
My top three are the ones that made the most sense and those that would resonate with a shopper. The others just seemed obnoxious.
Stone Shop seems the most authentic, some of them are gimmicky like Stone Depot, and others are just plain bad like StoneTrash. Who would shop at a place like that?
The only two choise that are any good are Option B and E. The other 4 are terrible.
I like stone stop the best because it has an alliteration. A is last because who would name their business trash?
B is simple, fun to say, rolls off the tongue, and easy to remember
I like the more professional sounding names and not the ones that add the "Stoned" pun in their name.
I realy like the stone stop as it just rolls off the tongue well. Surfaces by madison is nice too, because it gives it a personal touch. Stoney place sounds like a place i want to hang out like a pub or bar.
The Stone Stop and Stonetastic are the two that grabbed my attention the most. I think the Stone Stop sounds a little more catchy, but like both of these pretty good. Surfaces by Madison sounds ritzy and expensive to me, but like the name. I do not think I would shop at a store named stonetrash, that is not appealing at all.
I chose B first because the name "The Stone Stop" is catching, memorable and appealing.
B and C inspired the most confidence in the stone shop solely based on name - E and D are decent and could work as well. However, F and A are a little cliche and overused
A has a negative connotation. B, C and D are intriguing and indicative. F is unique and fun. E is memorable and professional.
I don't like A. Trash has a negative connotation. B sounds high end, so I chose that first. I think of quality. I chose F next because it had a nice ring to it. I chose C next because I like it but it does sound a little too much like Home Depot. E sounds like a nice small business. D was better than A.
I would go with a traditional style name like B or C. D I am not sure if you would buy stone or get stoned at Stoney's Place.
The stone shop is the best. Its description is exactly what you want
I like the flow of the Stone Stop, would make me think of stopping for any sort of stone product. Stonetastic would keep fantastic in my mind, a good thing for the company. Surfaces by Madison, what type of surfaces, might be intriguing. Stone Depot would make me think it's a stone store, but on par with what Home Depot sells. Stoney's Place I'm not thrilled with nor Stone Trash. The mayor of a nearby city is Stoney, not thrilled with him and the name although not related at all, would make me think of him. Would Not want to shop at a place that has Trash in its name.
Personally I think B is best but C D and E are also decent names for a stone store. F and A are not great names and seem too upbeat or overused to be effective.
Option B sounds like an established business focused on stoneOption C also sounds like an established business that sells stone for home renovationOption F is not as established - sounding, but nevertheless, a nice nameOption E does not mention stone, but it does include the word "Surfaces" which should include stoneOption D Stoney's Place sounds like a name for a bar. Not sure I would shop thereOption A is not a name for any business. Why would anyone include the word trash in the name of their business?
I like the B the best because it is clear what type of shop it is and it is a professional name, unlike some of the others (A). E and D are both similar to B, but B just has a higher quality sound to it.
OK, first of all, Options F, D and A (in whatever order) carry less formal / more negative connotations and I do not like them at all. Option B is my favorite as it indicates that this place would have everything stone. Option C I like because it seems to be a play on the very well-known Home Depot, so that is good (and kind of tongue-in-cheek). Option E is OK but I don´t really know any Madisons or why I should get stone from them.
I like all of them fairly equally except StoneTrash. It just does not have a nice flow to it for me.
I like Stone Shop the best. It is to the point and would not leave me guessing what the name might be. C would be next. Kind of the same reason as B. F, D, And E aren't that impressive to me. And I don't like Stone trash.. it doesn't sound like a place I would want to shop.
Stoney's Place sounds like a 1970s head shop. StoneTrash is just trash. These names are frivolous and juvenile and awful, to be honest.
Anything with trash is not good, even if you were selling actual trash you would still never use the word trash in the title. The other ones are fine. Depot to me just sounds like home depot. I like the first two and they sound serious but also kind of laid back so I think that is good.
I like the Stone Stop. Alliterative, memorable, and conveys what the store is.
This one sounds most like a store selling these products
Stone trash sounds horrible. The rest sound like common plays on already established stores.
A is not well at all. B is catchy and sounds reputable. C and F are acceptable. I'm not sure big fan of E or D.
I ranked them on how professional they sounded and how safe they sound to use.

I like stone depot - it could become a household word. I also liked Stonetastic - it's easy and probably easy to remember. I did not care at all for the one that had the word trash in it - sounded like it would be lower quality.
The first 2 are pretty good. They seem like a quaint little place to get stone from. 3 sounds a little more professional. 4 is just okay. 5 and 6 are terrible. Why would you want to call your stuff trash?
That name makes it sound like it will have all your needs met, all tile and stone work.
Who came up with Stone Trash? That is absolutely worst name I have ever heard for a business. Stoney's conjures up a completely different vibe, which you also don't want for a business name unless you're a head shop. Stone Depot at least is neutral.
Option C is the best name because it is easy to remember then other options
Stone Depot is excellent and fun. That's a great name there. I like Surfaces by Madison and that is a good personal name too. I like The Stone Shop for something basic. Those seem to make great names overall. StoneTrash just seems negative and no reason to name it that. Stone Depot for the top choice here.
I like C because it gives me the impression of a store with alot of options. My last choice- A- Stone Trash- what a terrible name for a store- makes it sound like stone leftovers and options no one else wanted.
I chose option C because the word depot makes you think of Home Depot where you can get everything you need for the home. Options B, F, and E are also okay, but not as good. Options D and A are the worst choices.
I absolutely love STONE depot and the stone shop. These are both cute, catchy and VERY memorable. They're fun to say and people like to shop at places that are catchy and fun to say. It's why places like Hooters and Snack Shack become popular and catch on. People love to say them and the word gets around! So, I think you can't go wrong with Stone Depot or Stone Stop. Surfaces by Madison is nice and classy sounding but not as catchy and seems expensive and like it only sells one kind of stone. I don't like the last two at all.
I prefer the name I chose in option C. More appealing and professional.
C and B are catchy phrases and simple, E tells the brand which is okay the other three just do not sound good
The term "Stone" really lets me know the expected items we will get to. The only exception was "StoneTrash" which sounds like a bargain place with leftover pieces from other stores. Surfaces by Madison sounds really upscale and expensive, and the materials I would generally look for would not be in a store like that.
I like Depot the best because it gives you the best idea of why you should go there. I think it fits. I like E next because I like that it’s different and it gives a name which people can give out easy. Both names stop and space is good but it doesn’t stand out like the others do and could get lost with people. It needs a little flare to me and this is too ordinary. Fantatic is the opposite of B and D. It’s too much and too gimmicky to me. People won’t take it serious. Avoid using A at all cost. Putting trash in your name is a terrible idea.
Option C is my first choice. Its clear and straightforward with a comfortable name for the public. Options E & B are likewise perfectly a ceptable and have a charm to them. Option F with the "Stonetastic" sounds a little silly and Option D with "Stoney's Place" sounds like a Bar. The worst is Option A, why would you want the word "trash" in your title?
Option "C": I liked this choice comparatively even if a bit derivative of another national home supply business, it is more memorable, catchy and is totally relevant for this type of organization.
If I'm shopping for rock/stone/marble countertop, I would like to shop at a place named Stone Depot (choice C) because I feel that it's a one stop shop for stone and they're the expert.
Picked c because it sounds like they offer a lot at a good price.
Stone Depot makes the most sense to me. It reminds me a lot of something like "The Home Depot".
StoneTrash is not a welcoming name. C and B best convey the meaning while being inviting.
Option C has the best ring to it and is the best match for what the company is and does. It has a more professional sounding name to it that would give people a higher first impression of the company overall. It also would be something people would remember and be able to pass onto other people. Overall, it almost sounds like another company and would resonate more with people as something worthwhile. Option C would appeal to more people and would make them more likely to want to know more about it.
The Stone Stop and and the Stone Depot stand above the others. They are a naming configuration and style people are familiar with. Choices F and E would be next with plays on words. Option A is either a test or a really bad name.
C and B come closest to what is being sold.E sounds uppity which might be a good thing depending on 'Madison' recognitionD is a tavernA is likely a test.F isn't a word in my mind
chose based off of what sounded the most appealing saying out loud
My favorite, C, is simple and direct. My least favorite, Stone Trash, option A, is not a good name in my opinion. The options in between range in very nice to acceptable.
They sound more legit and trustworthy.
who would name their store stonetrash? i only like C and B because they are easy to remember
A is completely gone. Option B and C are the easiest and least corny.
the first 2 sound very good and professional, stone trash is just odd and does not sound good
Stone Depot is best. It sounds like a serious company with quality options.
My first two choices are in my opinion the most professional sounding, and would make me think that I would get a better quality product.
Stone Depot sounds professional and would be my top choice. The other names are ok, except for Stone Trash. I wouldn't go to a business with trash in the name.
C, B, and E all sound like classy names. F, D, and A are way too gimmicky / trying too hard. I would avoid shops with those names.
I really only like my first choice. The #6 choice is absolutely terrible. No one will be drawn to go to a store with trash in its name.
Option C: Stone Depot sounds like a lot of stone options to choose from.Option E: The term surfaces sounds like something smooth and shiny reminding of good quality stones.Rest of the options: Nothing sounded very interesting.
I really like Stone Depot best. It sounds affordable, while still providing a quality product. The Stone Stop is okay, but I would not expect to be impressed. Surfaces by Madison sounds better than the rest, but sounds expensive and pretentious. StoneTrash is not good, but I really don't like the rest. Stonetastic sounds awful. Stoney's Place sounds like a smoke shop.
the names and words used that gives a better description of the advert.
4 Responses to Option D
based on what seems like a better name brand or item based on the qaulity that could be associated with it
Obviously you would never put TRASH in your name, so Option A is out! I went with Stoney's Place because it sounds homey and trustworthy, and because you're selling tiles and countertops, and the other choices, with the exception of Option E, sound as though you're just selling Stone.
E, F and A are random and not creative. D, C and B are creative, clever, and telling of business purpose and function.
D sounds the most premium then E then F then B. C is boring. A sounds low quality
21 Responses to Option E
E seems elegant and gives the impression of personal service. F and B are just okay and I didn't care for any of the rest of them.
Some of these like Stonetastic sound very tacky. Why you would call it Stone Trash is beyond me. I would never shop at a store that had the word trash in the name. That just tells me they don't think their products are made with high quality
E is sophisticated. B is okay. C is too much like Home Depot. F is silly. D sounds like a bar. A, Trash, is last - who buys trash?
My choices are ranked best to worst based on title name of store
E was a plesant name that indicated a wide variety of products . I ranked the rest based on how increasingly bad each store name was. I can live with “stone depot” but D & A we’re simply terrible names.
I think this sounds fancy and sophisticated
E, because I want a Surface B, and C, and F, have a stone collection of sorts
stone trash is out - that sounds like a garbage dump for stone. Surfaces by Madison sounds nice - i would assume that i get to know who madison is and that he/she is a famous designer? the stone shop and stoneys place are also good because they let you know what you're getting. stonetastic sounds cheesy though.
I would definitely never choose option A. E has the nicest ring to it in my opinion.
I like option E because the name sound sophisticated and expensive. It has a high end sound to the name.
Surfaces by Madison has an eloquent image when I hear the name.
Surfaces by Madison sounds the most professional. C, The Stone Depot is pretty good. The rest of these choices aren't good at all. They sound like jokes.
E is the best one because with the word surfaces it covers it all. I think it is the most clever and memorable one too.
Surfaces by Madison, E, sounds the most professional and trustworthy to me. It does not have any negative implications like some later options do. For example, A, Stone Trash, just makes it sound like they sell garbage, which is not appealing. D, Stoney's Place, sounds like a marijuana dispensary name or makes me think the owners are all high. F, Stonetastic, at least does not have any negative implications but it sounds really tacky and not well thought out. C, Stone Depot, is okay but sounds a little too much like Home Depot. B, The Stone Shop, is pretty straighforward but does not sound as professional as E.
The first three sound more classy and more elegant than the others. It gives an idea of what kind of countertop I would be getting - classy, elegant, etc. The last three sound to me, more like bargain basement countertops - cheap stone, lower quality granite, cheaply made tile, etc. It would seem undesirable to me.
Surfaces by Madison sounds like a classy place to buy countertops. It covers more than tops. I includes tiles.
I don't like the use of the word Trash in the title but implies trash, so that's why A is last.Surfaces by Madison sounds mature. It doesn't say Stone like all the others. So it gets first.Of everything with the word Stone in it, I like the Stone Stop the best. It's the least corny. So it's get second.Stone Depot is funny because it' s like Home Depot. It gets third.Stoney's Place is better than Stonetastic. Stonetastic is not good. So D gets 4th and F gets 5th.
Surfaces by Madison was my first choice. It sounds reputable. Stint Depot was my second choice. I realize that it is a play on the brand Home Depot, but it sounds familiar and I like it. The rest really didn’t appeal to me. I can’t really put my finger on what I didn’t like, but I would probably chose other businesses over them.
Option e is the most creative and also broad and could be more encompassing
I like the idea of option 1 because it feels as though you are shopping with a person. It has a more personal sound.
option E for me is the best choice because the name sounds very sophisticated and classy and gives the impression the the products is high class and well made. F is next because the name puts it in a very advanced era of technology- very creative and unique, one of a kind, B although a bland name sound like a one stop shop for everything one is looking for in that product. C is also a bland name but the name signifies that it is not only sell stones but accessories as well. The name D connotates is that the produce is mediocre and not much is put in the product and A is not even a place one wants to buy products to put in your house. It sounds like a place of left overs.

F is my top pick because it is really marketable. I do like E, though, as this is my daughter's name.
stonetastic sounds affirmative and positive while also incorporating the surface material - pretty good option. the stone shop and stone depot are fine too, if a little plain. stoney's place is a little vague - could be a restaurant/B&B/inn-type business. Surfaces by Madison isn't great - sounds like a DIY/Etsy shop. And stonetrash is just bad - why would you reference trash in the business name if you want to convey quality? weird choice.
I liked the funness of the first names. Any name with trash in it I would avoid.
The first choice just advertises the product, suggesting it is fantastic as a source. The second choice makes clear what product is being sold and by whom. Choice 3 just plainly states what is for sale. So does Choice 4, but that one kind of suggests affiliation with another home supply corporation (& smells of a large law suit). Choice 5 sounds like a purveyor of cannabis, not stones. The last choice, as the name suggests, is just trash!
F is a really cute name. D is a cute name too. C is not bad. B, E, and A are okay.
I really like F, it has a quality sound to it and is catchy.
I like stone depot as it sounds like the price are good and there is enough variety
I picked F first because Stonetastic reminds me of Fantastic and I think I would shop there first. Next, I picked C Stone Depot because it reminded me of Home Depot and Office Depot and made me think that they would have a wide variety of wonderful products. Next, I picked B The Stone Stop because it sounded like a place where a variety of stone products would be available. Next, I picked E Surfaces By Madison because it sounded like a boutique type of store where I might find unusual stone products. Next, I picked D Stoney's Place it sounded like a place where I would find homey and personalized service and finally, I picked A StoneTrash because I felt it would be some sort of salvage yard and while it could have a variety of stones it seemed that they could be rejects or not wanted by the general shopping public.
