Which name do you think best depicts an audio/musical accessory brand?
Option B won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 29 votes after 1 round of vote counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 |
---|---|
B | 58% 29 votes |
C | 36% 18 votes |
A | 6% 3 votes |

Of course Listen lets you know directly. Then decibel let you know its about sound. Most people will not know what Oto means although I do like the sound of that the best.
I especially liked A because just by reading it makes you think of "listen" and would expect it to be some sort of audio related brand. I chose C because I like the name but it might have to be explained as to origin and meaning. B just states loud, which could mean many things.
Lisen sounds like the verb listen which is associated with audio, hearing, music, etc.

i went for the most logical items, oto is cool, but most won't know what it means
I think the order I chose is the best overall answers.
i prefer decibel because it is recognizable as being associated with audio.
I think "Lisen" seems like a typo and few people would know what Oto means. Decibel is very clearly about sound.
decibel seems really fun. for oto you probably will need to provide explanation to every customer.
I picked my answers in the order that I liked them. In this case, in the order that sounds most like an audio accessory brand.
I think this is the right order
this is a measurement of sound. People can immediately identify what the company is about
I really like both B and C, but I prefer B because it would be something I'd easily understand without having it explained to me. I think A just looks clumsy and careless.
I prefer an English sounding word and this one connected the most to me and is linked to music as well.
Decibel perfectly fits for this, I do not know what a Lisen or Oto is.
Decibel is something I would associate with sound or music. That is why I chose that for my top choice. I wouldnt know what Oto or Lisen are referring to just from hearing those words.
DECIBEL IS BY FAR THE BEST CHOICE
This is what you are use to sound being called
Decibel is already associated with sound, and angsty adolescents will like it because they think it means "loud".
Choice B Decibel seems most logical and intuitive to me. The other two look like spelling mistakes to me. Sorry, but I don't like either A or C at all.
I like decibel because it is how sounds are measured. I also like the Japanese word for sound even though I feel like most people would not know what it is. I do not like Lisen because it does not make sense.
Decibel is clear in stating what the brand is, while also appearing modern and edgy.
Decibel I already associate with sound so it fits to music. The other choice almost seem made up, especially C since most people don't know Japanese.
Decibel is an English word for measuring noise level. Lisen sounds like"listen". Oto is a Japanese word that most Americans are unfamiliar with.
Decibel is descriptive while still being fairly unique. Oto is unique as well, although most English speakers would not know what the brand name means.
Seems like the clearest and most memorable
Decibel sounds like an audio accesory brand.
Decibel is a unit of measure and a STANDARD. Lisen is cute by omitting the silent "T". Oto is meaningless unless in a certain market.
I think decibel is fun and makes it perfect for the music brand
The first term is the only one I know immediately refers to something musical, the third term if explained by it's Japanese meaning makes sense, the 2nd term doesn't attract my attention because it sounds like a made up word.
The first one is very net and easy to remember, also most people know what a decibel is. The next one is a nice play with the words. The last one is too vague and seems random.
Since the name decibel is literally a description of how loud something is I picked that one first. I picked Lisen next because it is very close to "listen". Oto is a nice sounding name, but most people won't know it is "Japanes for sound", including myself before this task.
Decibel definitely makes the most sense as it refers to sound. Oto is catchy and I like the use of Japanese. To me, "Lisen" looks like a typo that should have been "listen"

decibel is too common. Oto stands out and sounds cool.
I love the way C sounds, its unique.
I think Oto is the best, because it isn't as cliche as "Decible" and I don't think the spelling of Lisen is going to do anything but annoy people.
I picked c because it's unique. I don't like a because it looks like a misspelling
I think it would be unique to use a foreign word for sound.
Oto is the most unique. Decibel is already a magazine name and Lisen is terrible.
Chosen in order of preference
I went with what sounded pleasing to me and what would make sense
most unique name
I like simple and easy to pronounce words
I like Oto because it is not as on the nose as the other two options. It is different and seems more intelligent.
I LOVE the choice C "Oto"! It's simple to remember, very easy to say, and is catchy. The second option I'd pick is Lisen but it just seems like there is a typo. Decibel is too long in my opinion and hard for some people to understand.
I ranked it from the most rememberable.
Oto I picked first because since it means sound has a nice ring to it over the other two choices. I chose option B second because everyone is familiar with decibel so it is a logical choice. Option A was my last because not as good as other two names.
Oto is a very nice sounding term and fits the type of product. It also is novel enough to catch on with people.
These are the ones that sound the best to me.
I like Oto because it has a distinct, intriguing, and unique feel. It is also very simple and quick. Decibel is okay, but not very interesting. Lisen is not great because it doesn't look visually appealing due to the error in spelling.
While Decibel seems like the obvious choice, the other two give an exotic feel and feel much more like a brand name rather than how generic Decibel would be.
