Imagine you are starting a new job. After accepting the job, there is important new hire information you need to get. How would you like to access this information?
Option A won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 26 votes after 2 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 |
---|---|---|
A | 48% 24 votes | 52% 26 votes +2 |
C | 40% 20 votes | 48% 24 votes +4 |
B | 12% 6 votes | Eliminated 6 votes reassigned |

I don't want to have to download ANOTHER app for something like this. There's too many apps already.
For anything 'serious' like this, I always prefer a computer. They tend to be more secure, are far easier to manipulate (keyboard vs touch screen), and much easier to read for clarity in what this new information is. I couldn't imagine trusting something of this much important to be done on something that fits into one hand. I like having that option if I need it, but it shouldn't be the only option if I have a say in it.
On a desktop, I have more options and more flexiblilty in the learning process.
Always on desktop never on phone so A is the winner
i would prefer desktop based, it's easier for me to navigate, my phone is a piece of junk
I only want the information via desktop computer. I have a very basic phone that is not conducive to apps.
I think everyone has access to a computer. Not all folks have a phone.
I don't want anything having to do with work on my personal smartphone. I want to keep work and personal life separate. Any needed documentation should be able to be accessed from my work computer.
I am more comfortable using a computer so I rather have it Desktop-based.
Option A of a fuller screen is easier to view, less scrolling. Can more information on one page. Likely better compatibility.
I feel more comfortable looking things up online and doing research online and that includes new hire information.
i would like to access the information on a desktop computer because it's easier to use
I don't like the idea of a person's personal information being on a phone that can easily be stolen
I have an iPhone SE, it is not even arguably convenient to read on compared to my 32-in flatscreen monitor with mouse and keyboard controls
Desktops should always be the primary source of information and not force a compromise to meet mobile limitations such as screen size or attention span. I think both is a fair compromise, but it usually comes at the expense of the desktop experience. Most phones should be able to show information in a browser and mimic a desktop experience well. App-based is the worst option because there is little reason for any company to create apps, let alone most things that are apps to exist as separate apps in general.
So much easier to read this information on a large screen. There is pages and pages of it, and I wouldn't want to have to fight with my phone to complete an electronic signature.
I prefer not to download a lot of apps, and would find it easier on a desktop because I can navigate and type faster
I like the stability and comfort of using a laptop or desktop as opposed to using a tiny screen on a phone. Very helpful for sure!
I prefer doing things on my computer
I chose option A, believe it or not but I use my computer more than anything. I doubt I'd be using my phone for something like this.
I really hate to have to install an app on my phone, I would much prefer to access this through a computer.
I much prefer to work on things on my laptop because I can type faster
Unless a app capable phone was provided by the company, I would prefer onboarding stuff to be delivered via a website if it must be done electronically.
A I would rather use a website when it comes to work information because an app has more security problems.

I think getting it on an app would be the most accessible since I have that with my 24/7 as opposed to my PC.
i would prefer app based. i always have my phone on me.
i ranked like in favorite in order, i mostly choose two i love this
Having access to the information on the phone would be the best option as it can be accessed anywhere and on the go.
B. I feel that with b it is much more on demand and easier to access real time information
I'd like it to be App based but using both would be cool. Using an app would be easier to use and more accessible.

Both A & B is best because I would like to have both options for convenience.
Depending on the topic, I like both. I dont think app only is the best option
To me I think that being able to access the information both ways is the most common and convenient way to handle this.
I would like to have both computer and mobile access for convenience . I value having computer access more than mobile though due to the larger screen.
The app would be easier without a doubt, however i would like to have access to both!
Option C is the most convenient
I think the information should be accessible on both desktop and mobile device because I use both.
Most people use their phones nowadays for everything. So having both options, as in option c, would be most helpful. As far as options b and a go, I feel phones are used more than desktops.
I prefer this one so I could make sure that I could get my information either all.
I'm always either on my computer or phone, so both would be very beneficial to me.
I think both because I could access anywhere and sometimes it's easier to read long pages on the computer rather than the phone.
If I can have both methods, I want both. However, if I had to go for one or the other..regular desktop..easier to read on.
Choice C is my top pick because I think that this information should be access able in both places to make it as easy as possible on people to get it. Some people might not have a desktop to access or vice verse with a mobile device. So having it on both makes it so that anyone will be able to get to the information. Choice A is second because personally speaking I would prefer to access it on a desktop since I use that a lot more and am not the biggest fan of browsing on my phone. That is why Choice B is last.
I would like the option for both computer and mobile because it would be more convenient and accessible.
Ideally I'd like the information in print, but desktop based is second best I guess.
seems to be the most practical and easy option that allows me to have access any where i want
Would prefer both options, but if I must choose, the mobile option would be more accessible.
I would love the option to access the information both places so I have the flexibility depending on where I am or what I am doing. But if I am serious about the information I will take time to look at it on a desktop.
It is always good to have multiple ways to get the data you need.
I would like the ability to use the software on any platform thus I prefer Option C.
