Imagine you are starting a new job at a new company. How important is visiting corporate headquarters to your onboarding experience?
Option B won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 30 votes after 2 rounds of votes counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 |
---|---|---|
B | 40% 20 votes | 60% 30 votes +10 |
C | 36% 18 votes | 40% 20 votes +2 |
A | 24% 12 votes | Eliminated 12 votes reassigned |

Visiting the company's hq would definitely help me get a feel for the kind of company that i would be working for.
i think it is smart to meet face to face with your bosses
It can help you get a feel for what it will be like working there and the attitude that people work there have.
Being able to put a face to a name and establish real-world connections is a key part of understanding expectations with a manager/direct report
i think option A is the best because visiting the headquarters in person gives you a better impression
I think it is important because I want to learn as much about the company as possible. I think visiting would allow me to see everything and meet as many people as possible. Forming relationships is important
I would like to know what the company looks like in person. I don't like to be in the dark on things like that
I like to get a feel for a company's culture and the day-to-day activities of that company. Very helpful for sure!
I think that this is important. You can meet new colleagues and get a better idea of the office environment when you see how the headquarters works.
Never know the connections you might meet that will help you later on.
important to visit corporate headquarters
I would find visiting the office very important. I think it helps a new employee feel the vibe of the company and know exactly what he/she is walking in to.

Unless I'm working in a corporate role I don't think this is important
I think it is nice to get a glimpse of the corporate office because that can give you a good idea of the company culture, but I also think you will figure that out eventually on the job - even if it is a remote job.
A headquarters tour might be interesting, but unless my job is actually AT headquarters, I don't see how it would help much.
Unless I'm working with corporate, I don't think it matters to me if I go to HQ. It seems pointless and unnecessary
Visiting the HQ, as in the actual center of the business, is something I don't see as being super important when taking on a new job. Visiting the center you'll actually work at is, but not so much wherever the main branch is. Especially since that's functionally impossible in today's environment with how widely spread a business's offices can be. It could easily be several states away, if not nations. It'd definitely be helpful to understand corporate history and culture, but I wouldn't call it integral in most cases.
In the jobs I've had in the past, I have never had to go to corporate headquarters. I chose option C, I'm neither for or against it.
For some of the companies that I worked for, I never visited corporate headquarters and it never bothered me. I just needed to visit my local office which was somewhat important, but then again, this was before the advent of zoom.
For me, it would be a cool experience but it's not needed or matters to me.
it really depends on the size of the company, if it's a small company than it is important, if the headquarters is far away, then it's not such a big deal
It would be nice if that's the place where I would be in. If I will be working remote or in another location, then it's not important at all.
I ranked in those orders because i believe that is very much important and at all time that you much visit the headquater at all time.
B. I think it's nice, but it is not critical to me
Choice B is my top pick because it is something that is indifferent to me. It is something that could be nice as it would let you really see the company and how they operate. However, not every company has their headquarters nearby or even in the same state or country as the person who is hired so it is not feasible to be able to visit them for a lot of people. Choice C is second for me because I think that it is more not important to visit the headquarters compared to it being important with Choice A.
I would say it isn't that important. However, it would depend on the company you are looking to work for.
For me, it won't be so important to visit corperate headquarters.
Visiting corporate headquarters is not really important if an employee is not going to be reporting there. It could also be important in order to get to know how things are done in the headquarters.
I can't say it's not important at all, like completely eliminating the possibility because you never know what you could gain from the experience, but ultimately it's a matter of not really caring either way. Like, if they presented me with the opportunity, I'd go, but I wouldn't make it a particular goal of mine.
It really depends on the job. If it's a reasonably small company, or you're working at headquarters, then going to headquarters is a necessity. Most other times, it is not going to be a necessity at all and most people won't see the HQ. Like if you're working at a branch of a bank, you're probably never going to visit the HQ and you don't have any real reason to do so. It would be nice to see it, to get an idea of the work culture, but in most cases, it is not something you think about either way.
i ranker like order really good to read this i like this work
I don't think that you need to visit a building to get an understanding of corporate culture. The building is just that. The people are the culture. Remote work should be 100% remote and not require unneeded trips.

Not important. I would rather visit my personal work space to get to know my work family over corporate.
If you have applied at the company, you have done research on it. Having to go to the headquarters doesn't help.
I would not care about visiting the corporate headquarters. In fact, I would view it as a complete waste of time. I think some people have fantasies about companies and overvalue their role in their life, but personally the less time I waste on things like corporate headquarter visits, the happier I am. Visiting the headquarters can also affect morale as often other offices provide far less benefits and amenities.
I've worked at plenty of companies and never seen headquarters, it's not a problem for me at all
I think visiting the headquarters is interesting but not necessary by any means. Even a virtual tour would suffice in my opinion.
I've never been impressed much with buildings. I care more about the pay and the benefits.
I don’t care about anything beyond what involves me.
I started a new job during the pandemic fully remote and I dont think I missed anything by not physically seeing the office first
It will probably be a massive waste of time listening to HR nonsense.
C - I do not care one bit about visiting the headquarters unless my job is in the building. B - It really does not have any impact on my jobA - people who feel like the headquarters is important are out of touch with reality.
I do not think it is important to see headquarters in person (c) and I am indifferent to it (B)
Who cares what the corporate office is like as long as you can do your job? Unless there is something at the CO that is necessary for your job that you cannot get at your site.
I can get what I need from HR I do not need to see corporate
Unless you will be working at the corporate headquarters there is no reason to visit. Oftentimes the culture and work atmosphere are completely different in a headquarters setting vs. a branch or satellite location.
C/ It's completely unnecessary to visit corporate headquarters before starting a job B/ I don't care if I visit corporateA/ If I'm going to be the CEO, CFO, or executive vice president, than yes, it's important.
does not need to go thru all that for me to get started i can get away and work with alot less
Unless I am working at corp headquarters it doesn’t matter. I’d rather get to the area I am working and get to know the people there as that who I will be mainly interacting with.
I do not need to visit the corporate headquarters to get up and running in my new job. Seems like an added expense for the company and a big chunk of time out of my week. If the office was close by then perhaps it is useful but getting on a plane and staying in a hotel is a bit much
