How easily are you able to find trustworthy, informative, and reliable service for car maintenance or major car repairs?
50 Responses
I have an auto-mechanic that my family has been going to for over a decade, so I have no trouble finding a trustworthy, informative, and reliable service for car maintenance or major car repairs.
I don't have a car so this isn't super relevant to me, but helping my friend/roommate find resources for cars is easy. We stick with the same mechanic we almost always use.
In this area, finding good auto service is pretty easy. There are a lot of auto shops here and lot of independent mechanics too. It's getting noticeably harder as time goes on though, all these proprietary parts and electronics in cars these days is really hedging small businesses and independent mechanics out of the market. I worry it'll get much harder in just a few years.
Not very easy. I usually rely on references from friends, and even then, I am never confident a mechanic is being truthful and ethical.
i am able to find it easily through the yellow pages and review services for automobiles
I feel like it's very easy to find those kind of services,
I mainly get my information from the showroom where I buy the car or the main gas station I go to refill my gas. Sometimes when am outside the city I do search online to get a good mechanic.
I feel like this is easy enough to Google and other review websites. You can also use social media for recommendations.
It is fairly challenging to find reliable information for car repairs.
I think I can easily find trustworthy information and reliable services for car maintenance
In our locality, I always go to the same car maintenance shop! I find it easy to find this service.
There is a good mechanic nearby here which I have been using for years and I think they are very trustworthy so not too hard.
Not always easily at first but soon thereafter. There are a lot of unsatisfactory repair shops but the majority of them are.
Not very easily. It is usually through word of mouth, which is hit or miss.
For me this is not a problem as I have a family member that owns a shop but I know that for most people they do not have this luxury.
I find it very had to find trustworthy, informative, reliable and unbiased service for car maintenance/repairs. I own a ford focus and the dealership is as squirrely as it gets. The car was messed up from the start(transmission issues) and they kept the car for a week to "fix it and the recalls" and instead did nothing and added hella miles to it with zero repairs stating they "couldn't recreate the problem". So I usually ask mechanic buddies or family(this is not helpful either usually.)
I find it easily online by mostly looking up reputable people and asking around community sites for recommendations
I think it is fairly easy to find trustworthy and informative information regarding vehicle service and repairs, I think there are a variety of good websites to look at when you need this type of service and I think cross checking those sites and looking for one that has a good reviews on multiple sites is a good way to find a service that will provide you with a fair and trustworthy maintenance or repair. I think using reviews that are on google maps or sites such as yelp work wonders, and I think cross checking them is a good way to ensure reliability.
It's not really that easy because you have to find a auto repair shop that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Not very easily. I moved to a new city almost a year ago and do not know the trustworthy, fairly priced place to go around here. Doing a google search has not been very helpful.
I found a place SO many years ago and they are my people. "My Favorite Automotive" is the name and it is owned and mostly run by women. They are trustworthy, I feel safe there, they have been times when my brake pads were making a noise and they checked and let me know they were fine and to come back in a 6 months. Never ever have I felt screwed. The place is a gift.
I have a mechanic I think is fair, but I don't know enough about cars to check.
somewhat easily, I ask around, family and friends, to find trustworthy places
I don't have much trust in mechanic places. I have to ask around and hope the mechanic is still working at that place.
I personally don't even know where to start so I usually rely on my husband to get that information
I have a trusted mechanic that helps me out with these kinds of things. So for me personally I feel it is pretty easy.
I don't have a problem with it. The shop I do business with alerts and reminds me about maintenance, and they get me in as soon as possible when the car needs service such as repairs.
Not very easily. I'm a youngish female and I feel that anyone could take advantage over my ignorance over car reapairs. This has actually happened to me and I have been out almost 500 dollars and 2 repairs that were not needed! I feel like I could go online and find more reliable information myself with a simple google search. It costs an unbelievable amount of money to find some reliable as they cost so much, too.
I have a great mechanic eho wss recommended to me by numerous friends. I use services that are recommended by people i trust
Luckily it is fairly easy for me to get trustworthy, informative, and reliable service for car repairs and Maintenace because my husband is a mechanic and knows how to work on our personal vehicles and saves us a lot of money on labor costs. I also have family members that are knowledgeable.
It's kind of hard to find good and honest mechanics, you have to rely on the recommendations of your family and friends, and usually they know as much as you about cars. Only if they know about cars their opinion is valid, otherwise it's just a game of chance, if they were lucky to get a great value for their money it does not mean that you would have the same luck. Most car maintenance services take advantage of your lack of knowledge about cars and tend to add repairs that are not needed or charge excessive amounts for the service.
It is easy to find general information online, but when it comes to finding the cause and solution to a problem you're actually having, it can be hard to find someone trustworthy to help you.
I’d say it’s word of mouth that rules the world in this realm. If somebody has experience and it was a good one I’m inclined to listen
I have a guy in my town that I trust. They’ve always been good, so I would say it’s pretty easy now
I am lucky to have friends in this field. They are trustworthy and reliable.
fairly easily. there are so many good sites
Not easily at all. Most places cost an arm and a leg and you can't trust anything they say.
Very easily from people I trust
I use reddit and Google searches so there is not an official platform that is trusted and offers accurate information. I think this service is very much needed for the current market.
I have a guy who I always take my car to if i have problems and he’s always seemed like an honest guy and highly recommend. He doesn’t seem in it for the money 100%
There's a couple of repair shops in town, it's rather well known which are good and which are a bit shady. That's small town life though. Word gets around.
not very, places overcharge to feel like better quality they are not better quality, i hate having to find places to get my carwork done, you cant trust anyone
Fairly easily. Just do a quick search of the internet and will be able to find verified results of various auto repair places
It's never perfect getting service for the car. I use the dealers but it's extra expensive and I've had problems in the past even with them.
I'd say pretty easy these days as I've never had trust issues with any mechanics I've been to.
By utilizing reviews and past experiences, I am able to easily find the right auto technicians I can trust in town. But this experience came at a cost of getting bad service a few times.
It is pretty easy to look up this kind of information
I usually find it very easy to find trustworthy, informative and reliable car maintenance services, and I have had good luck in finding good auto repair shops to fix my car quickly when I needed it.
I feel I am able to find them very easily because the internet helps me search for reliable information
It's tough but not too difficult. I use Yelp and Google reviews to research. I read all positive and negative reviews. My best source is friends or family. First hand account is the best.
