We are launching a non-profit to increase awareness about bone marrow donations amongst South Asians, and to increase the number of South Asian donor registries in the national registry. Which name do you like for this organization? Share other ideas.
Option C won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 26 votes after 1 round of vote counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 |
---|---|
C | 52% 26 votes |
D | 18% 9 votes |
E | 12% 6 votes |
B | 8% 4 votes |
A | 6% 3 votes |
F | 4% 2 votes |

I preferred the choices that said curry and I didnt like the choices that directly said bone marrow/marrrow
I ranked A in the number one spot due to its catchy name. It gives a lighthearted approach to fighting cancer. I ranked E in number 2 spot due to similarity to number 1. Option C I ranked number 3 because the name is a more serious and proper organization. The last three are more or less funny names with Option D not having any relevance due to it's name being something that can also be for a dating app.
this is funny but cool at the same time. I wish they were better at representing south asians because it sounds too funny to be something related to a thing as serious as Cancer treatments. Maybe talk more about our culture than something like Bollywood and curry. Curry is just a food and it sounds very stereotypical in my opinion. I also think you guys are not aware of everything Indian related because you chose the two most basic things regarding South Asian culture. Also, bollywood is just movies and stars and shouldn’t be related to a sickness,

i really like south asian swab squad because it explains the topic in just a few sentences. It is also very descriptive. it also shows a non-profit awareness about bone marrow donation
i think the name does not matter that much. but the names are innovative Option C is more better
I think it’s very catchy and fun while also showing the initiative of the organization.
The names with curry sound stupid, the other names are not as stereotypical. South Asian swap squad is the most descriptive and non offensive.

Option C is the most appropriate and wouldn't make me think of the organization as a joke.
Here are my preferences for the organization names: South Asian Marrow Initiative - This name clearly communicates the purpose of the organization and the target audience, making it my top choice. Curry For a Cure - While this name incorporates a cultural element, it may not fully convey the focus on bone marrow donations. However, it does have a catchy and memorable quality. Match Me if you Can - This name has a playful tone and could potentially appeal to a broader audience. However, it might not directly convey the organization's mission. South Asian Swab Squad - This name has a fun and catchy ring to it, but it may not clearly convey the purpose of the organization to those unfamiliar with bone marrow donations. Curry Fights Cancer - While this name highlights the connection to cancer, it doesn't specifically convey the focus on bone marrow donations and might be limiting in scope. Bollywood Bone Marrow - This name incorporates a cultural reference but may not resonate with all South Asian communities, and it may not clearly convey the organization's mission. In summary, I believe the "South Asian Marrow Initiative" would be the most effective and inclusive name for our non-profit organization, as it clearly communicates our mission and target audience.
Option C is preferred. Name identifies the region and also the specific cause it's reaching out to.
Option C is the best as it by far sounds the most professional and respectful. E and A on the other hand are terrible and offensive
Option C and D are the only options which seem to portray a serious image of the non-profit. Some of the names which include curry and Bollywood might seem offensive to some people as it depicts South Asians in a certain light. Not all South Asians relate to eating curry or watching Bollywood, and it categorizes them as so.
C and B are the ones without racism in it. I like C more, it is easier to understand.Suggestion: South Marrow Cure
Option C sounds the best and is the least offensive compared to the other options
Option C sounds more professional and more like it is going to be successful. The rest sounds a bit more playful and non-professional.
I think to talk about Asian bone marrow in donation is all it is required to rank as first because it makes me stay on topic about what the ranking should fit first. The second one should be asian related but it has no bone marrow in it so I'd put it second. Meanwhile, the rest of the poll was off topic and did not mentioned anything about Asians or bone marrow so, I ranked them lower
The first 2 sounds professional and perfect since they’re straight to the point about the goal. However, the last 4 sounds stereotypical and kind of racist. I do like how the titles mention what the goal is so anyone who hears about this organization can immediately tell what they’re going into from the start.
I chose option C. It has the targeted group “south asians” and it has the word “marrow”
I don’t have any ideas. South asian associations are a good way to interact with with people from same origin
This name is straight to the point of the organization. It would make me know what organization it is.
Match me if you can is best name for that
Its from south asia so everyone knows by name when they search and its donating marrow so. Curry is not eating every part of asia Bollywood is not running the asia
Makes the most sense clear straight forward and too the point the ones that involve curry and bolly wood are unnecessary and quite stereotypical I don’t know why you would even include those options its low key offensive as a south Asian my self being from pakistan I don’t know why you are imposing stereotypes on all south Asians it’s distasteful.
Fits more to the cause more than others. I believe all of these title play somewhat in a degree to the actual awareness of the bone and marrow donations among South Asian donor registeries in the national registery. I believe the title plays a big cause to the support for those countries.
This one feels the least stereotypical as a south Asian myself and one that also feels professional!
I like the name south asian bone marrow initiative as it is very clear and indicates the function which the initiative expects to address
The word initiative gives positive feel. And also encourages donations .
This is more closely associated with the initiative. I don’t like the word curry or Bollywood as it doesn’t sound serious.
It's the only one that was universal to most Asians.
I voted in order of which ones I found most interesting
C is the most descriptive of what this is for. The rest of them get sillier.
It’s easy to understand what is about. It has “marrow” and South Asia.
“South Asian Marrow Initiative” clearly shows a specific geography, what they need and what they do. Other options sound unclear. For example, “Match me if you can” sounds like a dating application. “Curry fights cancer” and “Curry for a cure” may arose a question, what is curry? “Bollywood bone marrow” sounds like that they only want India, no other south Asian. “South Asian swab squad”, for millions of people, swab is associated with Covid-19 test.

Option D sounds less racially offensive and more of a challenge to meet a goal.
it's easy to remember and easy to speak out. I like " match me if you can" a lot.
I voted ones from the most informative and formal to one’s that sound more on the childish side
People love to get associated to a big cause like this but also love to have a Hollywood movie name tag to it!
I chose the order I put because as it goes on the names get lower on my list. Match Me if u can takes the top because it’s to the pint and easy to say while Bollywood Bone Marrow sounds kind of funny and unserious (much like many others although some are still fun and to the point).
In my opinion match me if you can is the best name for this organization
think match me if you can is the most interesting
It seems to be the most respectful to the target audience
Match me if you can is more interesting than the other one and less offending. As a south Asian we always get curry thrown in mix

I like the word fight cancer the most. It makes me feel like I'm doing something significant to everyone's life. The second choice is South Asain because it feel direct and resonate with me.
Curry is delicious and good for your health, so I like the name of the organization "Curry fights cancer"
My daughter is a cancer survivor so I like that name more
The alliteration is sounds very nice. I like more catchy names
I really like the creativity of the names for Choice E, A, and F. I think that making the names of these donations get more engagement as opposed to a more standard and boring name. Choice D, B and C are also creative but a bit sub-standard. I would go with the top 3 choices for the name of the donation.
Like it sounds good mutch... Good to understand

It’s just super fire! I love that we’re using Bollywood because it’s something we’re all familiar with.
the best name for the organization is the one that I feel best represents its mission and values
