Responses to Option A
1
It looks more fun and interesting. The other one is a little boring.
2
Even with cartoons, women are more appealing
3
A because women seem to represent airline industries better
4
i like the character design and it implies taking care of things
5
The female flight attendant looks friendlier than the male pilot which gives the icon a slightly more positive feeling.
6
I would prefer A because the name of the game makes it sounds like a classic time management type of game, which means I would expect it to be about serving drinks/food and performing other such duties. So I feel like the pic with the stewardess makes more sense.
7
I like the girl better
8
The woman makes the game more attractive to me.
9
I'm going to have to say "A" simply on account of the fact that, yes, sex sells.
10
I feel a greater connection between airlines and flight attendants. I feel the attire is iconic. Being a tycoon I want to feel I am more in charge of everything, flight attendants help that impression better than pilots.
11
I think the flight attendant is more interesting visually than the pilot. Grabs your attention more.
12
Option A looks more devious / plotting / ready to take things over. Option B is too friendly
13
This one just looks more appealing than option B.
14
I like the lighter features that the female character offers here. With that said, B is also an excellent choice and may resonate more with a male fan base.
15
Since it's a Sim Tycoon game you won't be flying planes so I think it would be better to show the stewardess because you will be managing stuff like that.
16
I think having a female vs a male on the icon makes it more appealing to both genders.
17
More eye catching.
18
I like it better because it showcases a female worker.
19
No real preference. I suppose there are fewer pilots to 'manage' than other roles if you're managing an entire airline so maybe emphasize them. Plus, pilots can be associated with any flying at all whereas service workers are more to do with airlines.
Responses to Option B
1
The captain's uniform is more appropriate for a tycoon.
2
I like the choice of B because its about an airline, and I like the picture of the pilot better.
3
While either one would work, Option B with the pilot would probably get me to play more than Option A with the stewardess because I'd have no interest in simulating/playing a stewardess.
4
The pilot is the more iconic symbol of airline flight.
5
More males play games so it would be better to have a man on the icon.
6
B seems more attractive to me because it has a pilot instead of a attendant. Maybe because I'm a guy and he is a guy or it makes me think I'll be doing more flying based things than attendant type things.
7
A flight attendant would be better if the game is focused on one plane and its service, but if the idea is flying and expansion, a larger view is better.
8
I think that Option B seems to be a better character to simulate than Option A.
9
Captains are associated with airlines more than stewardesses.
10
It looks better.
11
When you think of who is in charge you think of the captain.
12
it sounds right
13
I like the pilot
14
Both icons have their merits, but more often people think of the pilots when thinking about airliners. You can go with the stewardess if you care about sex appeal. B would be more apt.
15
The pilot is going to be downloaded by boys and girls. The flight attendant might be downloaded mostly for/by girls.
16
male in picture
17
I think the image of the pilot makes me think more of a "tycoon".
18
when it comes to planes i think about the pilot more than the attendant
19
I think this option will appear towards boys more.
20
I don't like the shape of the woman's face
21
The icon with the pilot gives the idea of more control. The icon with the stewardess gives an impression more like food prep and restaurant service games.
22
I Like the male pilot because the picture looks better. The female does not look as good as the male.
23
The pilot makes me think the game is more action oriented.
24
would rather have a picture of the pilot
25
Generally think there is more male pilots then female. Someone playing the game would probably relate more to the picture with a male pilot, the woman, i don't even think is a pilot.
26
Unfortunately, men are still associated with CEO and authority-type roles. Option B would be taken more seriously than option A.
27
It would make more sense to have the pilot, as the pilot flys the plane and is relevant to a simulator.
28
Like the picture of the captain.
29
When I think of an airline I think of the pilots not the stewardesses.
30
A pilot seems like it would be more professional and a higher quality game than an attendant
31
When I think of a "tycoon", I generally think of a male. That may sound bad but it's true.
