Which book cover is more appealing to a crime / thriller writer?

33 Responses to Option A
has a more educational feeling
Clear readable typeface wins over gimmicky typeface every time.
I like option A because it has a more appealing design and I like that it has a little color added in. Option B looks too plain and boring
I like seeing things displayed in pictures at an angle.
The title was larger, and overall there was less blank space on the cover. I liked the caution tape pattern around the author's name, the more professional looking color variation on the background, and the overlap of images over small portions of the letters.
Looks more like a fiction book.
The block letter provide a more thrilling look and I prefer the author name in the police tape.
I like the black background it makes the book stand out more.
This cover is more attractive
The colors are more vivid in A
This seems a bit more up-to-date and modern when compared to the other option. The cover in the other selection is not as appealing since it seems outdated.
The semi-blinding light in the background fits the theme better, while B looks decent, it's a little too flat.
I like A hands down better than B. I like the look of it and how the authors name is written inside the caution tape.
The art quality on this one looks better and that catches me eye more.
My eye was instantly drawn to this cover. Even when I deliberately looked at the other option, I found myself more interested in option A. The alternative option has slightly too much visual clutter, where A has a well placed arrangement of visual items that create interest without distraction.
I like the one on the right because I think that it makes it look more dramatic, which I think if you are involved with the genre of crime and thriller, you would want it to have a more dramatic feel to it.
this one seems funner
The title stands out more and is easier to read. the colors are more visually appealing
I like the graphics and badge better.
theres just something unappealing about B. A looks sharper.
Definitely choice A. Not only the cover and font but also the location of the authors name on the caution tape stands out much more than on option B. I also like the "Book One" in the bullet hole. Nice cover!
I like the bright colors of the cover as well as the gradients
This cover makes the book stand out as it is brighter. The wording is also easier to read.
The cover is more detailed and ete catching. The colors draw your eye in
It is easier to read the title on the front and spine
cleaner look. Dont think the Police tape adds to the look.
I chose A because I think the pictures of the front cover makes more of an impact at first glance. I also like the font and color of the font on A because it is very easy to read unlike B where you really have to squint to see what it says.
B seems shoddily done and photoshopped and low quality. My choice seems the most normal given the contents of the book
I like how the author's name is written in crime scene tape, It fits well with the title of the book.
The design of the book cover is good and it contains a detailed description. I think this author can have good sellings with this design.
Is more eye catching.
The other cover looks rather dated
It's just more easy for me to read title, etc. The opposite one looks miserable in terms of my ability to understand what book is about.

I think option A has very generic font and a very generic design. Option B looks more unique and the interesting design is more exciting.
B looks more like a reference book to me, with the simpler color scheme. The shaded background on A makes me think fiction rather than reference.
I like the different fonts that look related to the roles.
I like bother but if I have to choose B as it makes a better visual connection with the book and the police tape
I like the font and graphics more, the other option is too plain
I hope this makes sense, but I'm picking Option B as if this were more of a non-fiction type book. I'm not entirely sure if the book is actually fiction or non, but assuming it is more of a non-fiction, reference type book I think that Option B would be more appealing. Option A would be something I'd consider more for a fictional type book coming FROM the crime writer.
I think the font gives it a bit more of an air of mystery and I like the crime scene tape over the book. Choice A has a generic look to me...almost looks like a "How To Book" at first glance. I find it boring.
The other one is so bland that I had to pick this one by default.
I like the darker color scheme better. This reminds me of the color of uniforms cops wear.
I like the font in the title better, and the book with caution tape is nice
B catches my eye more. A looks bland and like a lot of others
I like that the "Cops" text look grittier and I think the image of the police tape with the book is creative.
I like the way that it incorporates the cops with the tape but also has the pen for the writing part of it too
Much nicer looking, more professional looking
They're very similar but my eye is drawn to B over A
Choice B has a more modern cover. Choice A appears to be a dated mystery novel from the mid 90s. I prefer the more clean feel of choice B
the dark blue looks very nice
