Which book title is more appealing?
21 Responses to Option A
It makes the customer wonder what this book is about and want to read it to see.
shorter more interesting
I don't think that I would look past the first work in B's title.
I think title A is more clever and makes me want to know about the various mistakes one can make.
Broader demo than just Americans
It's a much easier to read title.
Discovering Sweden One Mistake at a Time sounds more relate able than what an American can learn by leaving in Sweden.
the concept about learning about something by making mistakes really appeals to me since that is how we, in fact, do learn important things. makes sense.
Sweden is very complex to get around
sounds far more appealing
sounds more intriguing for serendipitious travel
This one is just new and different
Choice B sounds a little bit too gimmicky and choice B sounds more like something that'd be interesting for a novice traveller to Sweden.
Option A is a catchier title
I like how its almost saying you just never know what you'll come across when visiting Sweden. So just experience as you go.
Option A seems more like a memoir of somebody's experience (which I like) and Option B seems more like a how-to book (which I don't like).
I like option A because I would be drawn to not make those mistakes and want to rad the book more.
a is more simple and meaningful. b is so long. b seems like a questions more than title.
I don't like the word Smorgasbook. It is not a word and is off putting about what the rest of the book may contain.
I prefer this title because the idea of making mistakes feels more interesting and funny/exciting. I can sense the tension that the book will have with culture clashes and the stories that will be told.
The title is kind of catchy the way it starts out! Option A would e my choice since its worded to draw attention to Sweden first.

The unusual name in B makes the title draw my curiosity and draws my attention.
I prefer B, because I like the pun in the title and think it gives me a more direct idea of what the book will be about.
i HATE the word Mistake in the title of the book. I would never buy a book with mistake in the title.
I don't think we should say mistakes while discovering sweden.
It is always interesting to learn something new, so Americans learning new things in Sweden is awesome.
Option B is my first choice because Smorgasbook is a great play on the word smorgasbord and that piqued my interest. Since a smorgsasbord is a huge buffet of sorts, and this book is about being an American in Sweden it leads me to think that the book is full of a lot of interesting facts and ideas. The title invites you to dig in and read it.
If I had the choice to combine the title with subtitle - I would choose "Discovering Sweden - What an American Can Learn by Living in Sweden". Option B is more positive - a good book should always be a positive experience. A is about mistakes - negative.
Love that name smorgasbook
This turke made me smile, which makes me think the rest of the book will be as cleaver.
Sounds more interesting than the other one.
The title for option B suggests that I can learn a lot from this book, while the title in Option A doesn't suggest that I can learn anything.
A much more positive tone for the book and a clever play on words
I always wanted to visit Sweden. And I would like to know what it is like living there before I visit.
Enjoy the wordplay title, and relatable and an American
B is a clever, funny title that makes me think the book will also be clever and funny.
I chose option B over option A because A seems like it is only about discovering things through mistakes, or learning about Sweden the wrong way. Option B has smorgasbook in the title and this makes me thing of smorgasboard. I am thing that with option B, that the book would be everything about Sweden, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I am curious to see how it would be for one of us to be in this country. This would give me great insight about how this country affects us.
I dislike the other option so this is my choice. Plus I feel that that the "Smorgasbook" line gets the readers interest.
I think this book title speaks volumes. It sounds as though its giving insight to what it's like to live and learn in Sweden. Possibly what the culture is like, -the many things to see and do and how maybe an American can adapt to Swedish living. Quite possibly even telling about the things to stay away from and the language barrier to be adapted.
I liked the title because it says what an American can learn. As an American it caught my eye right away. If I was traveling to live in Sweden I would want this book. The other title has the word mistake which is negative and I did not like that.
very clever play on words
I try to look for the positive and this book title is positive.
I think Option A sounds really negative, whereas B sounds more like a story and lessons
I like having the word American in there along with what you can learn living in Sweden. The other doesn't really grab me or explain as much as the second one does. A mistake in Sweden can be just about anything. The other explains you are living there
more respectful title.
I am more interested in reading this book because of this title.
i think B is more appealing, I WOULD vote A if you changes "mistake" to a different word
I chose option B as the title relates more to me being an American and what it may be like to live in Sweden.
I'm a foodie, the title is more "appetizing".
