Which book title is more appealing?
21 Responses to Option A
Blood bay would pique my interest more
Title is too wordy for my money I think less is more.
this is more descriptive and would catch my attention more
It sounds more interesting, like an adventure waiting to happen and I feel like it tells me a little more about the story when it talks about the Devil's Deal and the Legend of the Quintspinner. It allows me to sort of see what the book will be about.
I like this option better and i think that overall its a great choice
I like the flow of this one, and feel that it somehow makes the book seem more interesting.
The tile is very catchy and rolls of the tongue easier than the other one. Bloody Bay island will catch your attention to get you interested.
I picked this would be a more realistic title for an adult, the other seems a lot more immature sounding
I liked option A more because I felt that the title was more epic-sounding, whereas the title in option B sounds like it is aimed at a younger audience, which I don't care for.
I think that option A is more appealing because it sounds more mysterious. It also doesn't mention a trilogy so it makes the reader wonder how many books there are and do more research
This option is better because the second one is too long and ridiculous. Option A I can see being a real book on a bookshelf, possibly.
“Blood island” sounds so much more intriguing.
I like this title book
I chose Option A because the words are less than the other one. A YA Pirate is unclear to me.
This just has a better ring to it. Option B just reminds me too much of the girl with the dragon tattoo. I think you'd be best to avoid those types of comparisons.
Both options seem very word-heavy for a title, but option A seems more concise and legible.
Blood Bay Island sounds like a cool setting and it makes me want to read the book.
This sounds more intriguing than the other
I think it appeals a bit more to everyone. It seems like a more mature title than "The Girl Who Sailed To Kill." It is a young adult novel, but I'm a little turned off by the use of "girl" in the title, because it makes me think of a literal child pirate and maybe this book isn't exactly as accurate to pirate life or as serious and grisly as it is trying to seem. "The Quintspinner and the Devil's Deal" intrigues me a bit because I wonder what that event is and makes me want to read the book jacket to find out.
Sounds like there is more mystery
Sounds more mysterious and not that cookie cutter to me.

this sounds more interesting because a female is the primary character
The title for Option B invokes a much greater sense of adventure and violence, so I think it's much better than the other title.
Sounds very interesting and scary.
I think this is more appealing because it's more understandable. I don't know what a quintspinner is, but a girl who sailed to kill is a little more interesting sounding.
Option B sounds like a really fun and exciting read. I love the title and this book sounds really unique.
I know it seems a little more on the nose but it's also more interesting to find out
I find the premise more interesting and exciting from a readership standpoint and would be curious what adventures await for me here.
The Pirate's Assassin is a good title. It hooks you in.
This one is slightly better, but honestly, they're both terrible. Way too long.
The tagline, specifically The Girl Who Sailed To Kill
I like the option B. It title is sweet sounding and rhtymic.
I can get a better idea about what the book is about with this one.
I chose B because having a girl pirate makes for a good story line I think.
Option B notes that the book is targeted for young adults, which lets me know what level of maturity the book may contain.
Choice B sounds more exciting and adventurous (although 'kill' might be viewed negatively).
B by default because I'm uncomfortable with blood...
The title of B sounds a little more straightforward and gives me a clearer idea of what the book will be about and what the genre is like.
This title immediately hooks you with the assassin part.
The title is more simple and straightforward.
I prefer B, because I think that title is easy to grasp at a glance and it places an image in my mind of what the character might be like.
It rolls off the tongue easier, and A is really just too long of a title
Both are bad but b is better because it is simpler ad more to the point
The powerful female character reference.
Option B is more specific because we are learning some about a character in the book. Option A is less specific because we only see the name of an island we don’t know anything about b
A little less wordy than option A. Something sexy about a girl pirate.
I like the sound of option B better. With "Blood Bay" in the title of Option A, it seems a little too violent or gory for a book that I would read. Option B's title sparks intrigue. I would consider this book to figure out more about the character, and why she needs to kill.
'B' implies a female protagonist, and it sounds exciting -- rather than slightly scary like 'A' does (with its Devil and island named after blood!). Plus, despite being much too old for them, I'm still a big fan of many YA novels (which 'B''s description says it is).
the title pulls me in and makes me want to know more about the story.
The title sort of tells what the story is about
