Which science fiction book title is catchier?
There was no majority winner of this Ranked poll after 2 rounds of vote counting. However, Option B and Option C had the most votes (25).
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.
Option | Round 1 | Round 2 |
---|---|---|
B | 42% 21 votes | 50% 25 votes +4 |
C | 40% 20 votes | 50% 25 votes +5 |
A | 18% 9 votes | Eliminated 9 votes reassigned |

Liminal is by far miles away much better then the other two choices. It's not even remotely close. The other two choices don't really at all compare to Choice A.
liminal sounds the most catchy to me
A - This sounds very sci-fi and interesting!B - Also sounds pretty intriguing. C - mouthful and don't really like
The title is more appealing, catchy, memorable and creative. I will prefer to know the context behind it.
The title of option A makes the consumer want to pick up the book to see what it is about.
I chose my which titles intrigued my interest the most
I picked the titles that seemed intriguing to me while still readily able to determine the likely plot contained in the genre of science fiction.
liminal sounds a lot nicer
"Liminal" is the most striking and simple and therefore is the best. Soul Harbor is cool, but also comes off as goofy. Impermanent Universe is too complicated too stick in your memory.

I think B has some mystery to it and it sounds nice to say. Liminal makes me interested but its a little off to me. C sounds to try hard
They are all very interesting titles
I would choose B. I like the name soul harbour. It would make me want to read the book.
Soul Harbor sounds catchier to me, it has a somewhat familiar sound to it that is catcher than something like Impermanent Universe which is too long to be that catchy or "liminal" which sounds like it's not a complete phrase.
I like option B because the title rolls off of the tongue and is easy to remember without any fancy words.
Soul Harbor makes me really wonder what it is actually about. The other names don't make sense to me personally.
The other two options seemed weird, even for a science fiction book. I thought my choice sounds cool.
Soul harbor speaks to my soul
"Soul Harbor" seems to set up a tone and location for the book. "Liminal" gives almost no information.
C is just way to long and un specific but i do like B it has a catchy tone to it
B - its words i understand and the word soul makes me think of metaphysical things that might pique my interest more immediatelyC - i dont really now what this means or the word impermanent. I guess i get it now that I just wrote it, but before when i first looked at the word, I was like - what is that word and didnt take time to process itA - I have no idea what that word means and why its in quotes - if i were just browsing titles, i guess maybe id look at the cover, but i dont know if i would use cognitive power to interpret it
Choose B, Soul Harbor, sounds like it may be interesting and slightly dark, edgy with some horror mixed in. Impermanent Universe while interesting is not as catchy as Soul Harbor but does sound like it may be cosmic in nature. I don't know what Liminal means or potentially means so in turn I have no interest in the name.
Option B is the best title because it's descriptive but vague at the same time. Option C is too straightforward but better than Option A because no one is sure what "liminal" means.
I like actual words for titles. I don't think "Liminal" would catch my attention. However, the other two seem intriguing, just (B) more than (C) for me.
i dont know what the last one means. soul harbor gives me some insight of the book.
Soul Harbor is something I understand so I picked that one. Impermanent Universe is interesting but not something I would normally hear. I never heard of liminal as a word before so picked that one last.
I think they all sound good. But I do like B over C and A more. C might be too wordy, but it sounds more sci-fi than Liminal.
"Soul Harbor" is easier to process and read. "Impermanent Universe" is too long with way too many syllables. "Liminal" is alright, it just didn't roll off the tongue quite as well for me.
I thought option B was an interesting title and option C wasn't bad either as both of them hook you in. However I am not sure what option A is therefore I'm not sure how I could like it.
Honestly don't care for any of them. The last one is too tongue tying to say and doesn't make sense. Don't know what the second one is but it sounds interesting. The first one sounds the best.
I like the mystique of "Soul Harbor" I think it sounds great.

How could a universe be impermanent? (well it actually kind of is actively degrading every day, nay, millenia, just it happens so slowly or we're only seeing a micro fraction of that degradation). Anyway that's the best title as you can see, I'm already getting philosophical about it.
C sounds more interesting than the other 2
I like option C the most I would be interested to hear what it is all about. Then option A also sounds like a tempting science fiction place. Finally, soul harbor doesn't seem to be very much of a science fiction name.
Soul Harbor doesn't sound very sci-fi to me. And Liminal probably wouldn't have much meaning to most readers.
I think C is a really intriguing title that gets my attention a lot. B gets my attention somewhat, but seems familiar to other sci fi books. A is just kind of confusing so I'd probably dismiss it.
I like C because it sounds unique and also intreging to me. B is okay and A I don't really like at all. It sounds odd.
C is unique, memorable, and clever.
I like words I can pronounce and don't remind me of racial tensions.
Option C sounds the most mysterious and futuristic
I think C is the most intriguing. It's the title that would make me look more into the book. A is a bit generic for the genre, but it's fine. B seems a bit cheesy to me.
My top choice is most attention grabbing
This one catches my attention and the fact it uses the wording universe it lets me know that it has to do with science fiction.
I really like the title "Impermanent Universe", it made me have to think about what the meaning was. After deciding what I thought the meaning was I continued to think about what the story line may be.
I think anything with the word Universe would keep peoples attention.
"Soul Harbor" is catchy, but doesn't fit with the Sci-Fi genre. "Impermanent Universe" does both.
Option B, "Soul Harbor", doesn't sound like a science fiction title at all. "Liminal" sort of reminds me of 'Limitless" or "Interstellar", so I like that one. However, I felt most compelled by "Impermanent Universe". The title made me want to learn more about the book, and possibly even read it.
C because it sounds more epic, soul harbor because it sounds important or impactful, and A last because it is hard to say and a bit confusing.
Flows along quite nicely
Option C is clearly space related via its use of the word "universe" and the word impermanent is intriguing and even required me to look up its meaning. This one offers me mystery and a sense of a fantasy journey into the unexplored. Option A has a millennial feel to it and has an undertone of moving past some kind of limits. Intriguing and worth a look. Option B is generic and overdone. The words are not interesting and I see no connection with science fiction. I would avoid.
Option C has the best science fiction book title. It would make me feel attracted if I saw this book in the book store.
