Which design is better for Online Grocery Shopping App? A regular mobile app or and app that shows a 3D simulated store and the user can tap on the products to view and add them to the shopping cart.
10 Responses to Option A
I decided to go with Choice A, but did think that most people would prefer Choice B. However, I found Choice A to be really interactive and felt that it literally puts the shopper right in the middle of the store whereas Option B just is a plain photo of a person on the phone.
I like option A because I am able to enjoy time outside of my home.
I really love the 3D simulated store. I think it would be amazing to shop the shelves of the store without leaving home. I like to browse products and I might see something I was not thinking about getting. This is new and innovative.
It looks like an empty grocery cart ready to get full of good food
I really like the idea of a 3d virtual shopping app, that would be right up my alley, and I would use it often, and pay for the service.
The 3d sounds like fun as it would be more interactive in my mind.
I think this is so incredibly unique and not like anything else I've seen on the market today! To be able to virtually 'shop' like a real store experience would be amazing and make you feel more connected to the experience, I think!
I like to really be in the moment when online shopping. Its a way to almost be in the store and get a full shopping experience. Can literally pick up and touch items from comfort of my home
This one is more recognizable and is rather easy to visualize and quickly understand. I also appreciate the realism provided by the image.
Hmmm, tough choice! I think the simulated one would be more fun, than actually going to the store and shopping. kind of like a game

I would like a simple mobile app. It'll be much faster and more efficient to use
B because A looks too confusing to me.
The second one is just weird
Easier to program for and maintain regularly
This format seems much more compatible with a mobile screen with limited screen size. The virtual store aisle version seems like it would be hard to visualize the product types and product labels without a lot of zooming and scrolling up and down which would be frustrating to do on a small screen.
The other one would be to much effort. Maybe in the distant future there would be a holographic version of that which would be cool, but with current tech, it just isnt a value add.
it'd speed up the time to shop
I am voting for Choice B, because I think it would be easier to find what I'm looking for. The point of the app (I would think) is to simplify the shopping process and let you quickly select what you want, but Choice A seems like it would be overwhelming - if I wanted to browse the aisles, I would just go to the store and skip the app altogether.
A regular mobile app for now is best until ar gets better.
B tells you it is an app for your phone. It shows some products which conveys the idea that you can view items.
I chose B because it actually shows the app and such. A is just a generic picture of a shopping cart. It shows almost nothing and depicts nothing
The regular mobile app seems like it would be fasternif you.knew what you were looking for.
looks like an easier way to shop
Most people use their phones and take their phones everywhere with them. I would think a phone app would be more useful. I have tried the simulated environment and find that it's a bit too sterile and hard to navigate.
The 3-d store would be too cluttered and difficult to identify products if using a smartphone.
The simulated shopping thing is cool but shouldnt' be the main option
It will be easy to view the products. The only problem will be quality received if comparable to viewed.
it actually show what the app would look at on your mobile device
This image is more clear and has a better focal point.
Puts you in a better frame of mind
I like the more basic app. The simulated store is kind of a cool novel idea but 9 times out of 10 I just want the basic functionality.
I have used 3-D type apps and they can be a hastle to navigate. I would much prefer the second option.
A phone app is something people use every day, so they would be used to it. A 3D simulation looks too much like a game so people might not take it seriously.
i think the best part about ordering from an app is you dont have to worry about the store layout or where things are on the shelves.
I think user wise it would just be a lot easier to use this way.
B is more simplified and I feel like I can get my shopping task done quicker than the other choice.
I think currently just would be a lot easier for people just to have a regular type of app and not a 3D one
app interface would be practical and cost effective, and IMO easier on the user, whereas a VR experience would't.
The simulated store idea looks too complicated; just let me pick out the things I want to buy and then be done with it
The items are displayed more clearly and this display would save time and make it easy to look up product information.
The phone in hand withe the vegetables looks very nice.
It just has a better feel
Option A is novel and interesting, but from a pure efficiency standpoint, i definitely prefer option b. the primary motivation for me using an app such as this would be able to speed up the shopping process, and virtually strolling simulated grocery aisles just seems to add time. option b seems very streamlined.
The simulated store looks to complicated to manage. I think the regular app would be easier.
Left picture is not attractive. B is vibrant with color
option B looks like it would be harder for a greedy store to try to derail a customers attempts to be healthier
it makes it easier. grocery stores are so overwhelming
Can include more product details
I think the regular mobile app design is better because it will be relaxing to use, while the 3D one makes me think of hassle and inconvenience of shopping in a real store.
I prefer option B and being able to see the app itself. That ad is better. I am not sure what I am looking at in option A. So definitely option B feels more appropriate.
