Which book title would you rather read and why?
Option C won this Ranked poll with a final tally of 51 votes after 1 round of vote counting.
In a Ranked poll, respondents rank every option in order of preference. For example, when you test 6 options, each respondent orders their choices from first to sixth place.
PickFu requires a majority to win a Ranked poll. A majority winner differs from a plurality winner. A majority winner earns over 50% of the votes, whereas a plurality winner earns the most votes, regardless of winning percentage.
If an option does not earn a majority of votes, PickFu eliminates the option with the lowest number of votes. The votes from the eliminated option are reassigned based on each respondent’s next choice. This process continues in rounds until a majority winner emerges.
Scores reflect the percentage of total votes an option receives during the vote counting and indicate the relative preference of the respondents. If there is no majority winner, look to the scores to see how the options fared relative to one another.

The moan title is very weird, I think the two about Truth are the best ones by far
Truth Is A Flightless Bird grabbed my attention because it sounds intriguing.
I'd like to know more about why truth is a flightless bird. Very intriguing title.
I thought options A and C really had hooking and intriguing book titles that would make me interested about the book. Option D is decent however it is a worse version of option A and I am not sure what a marabou is in terms of option B therefore I did not pick that choice.
A is the best title. It sounds the most like a title. C is fine too. D is a worse version of A. B has moan and has another word which I don't know so I don't care for it.
Truth is a flightless bird sounds like a very intriguing title and lies agreed upon also sounds like it would be an interesting read.
Truth is a flightless bird really makes me think it will have interesting content and will be well-written. I think that it draws me in the most and it would definitely be the one I'd pick up if I only saw the spines of the books and these four were together. Lies agreed upon has a somewhat inspiring and yet ominous feel to it, so I am really interested in seeing the contents of the book! It seems like it would have a good plot and writing style. It's vague and yet intriguing. Similar to option a, I liked option c third best. I think that the wording makes it seem like the author wants to be more sophisticated so it COULD be well-written or it could also be trying to look like it was well written. Because of this, I am a bit hesitant to choose it as number one. It's good overall but I have some lingering doubts because of how other books have been with this kind of title. Moan of the marabou feels rather dull and doesn't grab my attention so I'm not inclined to see what kind of book it is. It's not my typical type of book title, and I wouldn't be too sure what the story, genre, or content is based on the title alone.
very ironic name and comparison
the meaning is clearer
The title involving the flightless bird is kind of confusing but it makes me want to see what the book is about. The other titles don't really do it for me.
"Truth is a Flightless Bird" is an intriguing title. It makes me want to learn more about the story.
Truth is a flightless bird seems like quite an aesthetically pleasing book name. I envision a feel good story about learning life lessons through a bird hopping around. Option A is slightly preferable over D as it's more concise. I had to look what a marabou is, but I find Option B quite intriguing and it definitely peaked my interest. I didn't even know Storks moaned. Option C just feels very generic, why would I care about lies for characters that I don't know anything about.
A is best then D - they at least make some kind of sense in a poetic fashion, C is a little too loose a title and can mean many things, B is just odd.
Truth is a flightless bird sounds like the beginning of at gangster movie. Very interesting.
Ranked based on how engaging the title is
I like the truth and flightless bird in A and D. Has a better flow to it. Makes my mind start working on it.
This one is hard. Titles have a certain mental pull. A is something that has multiple possibilities. I am intrigued. C also has many possibilities, but not the same as A. I would expect a completely different book. For some reason D doesn't hit the same intrigue. I don't think I would pick it up. B is a title I would pass right by. Unless it was part of a series I was reading.
I really like option A and how the book title is a saying with a deeper and very true meaning. I also like that it is short and to the point.
That says there is a philosophical element to it.
A or C is the book I would pick up the title isnt too long and is simple. I dont like how long D is. It is too long for a title. I dont care for the name of book B. Makes me think of a romance book and that is not my kind of book.
A and B have a good ring to them
Prefer A I like the way it reads
this seems to me the most memorable and intriguing of all the titles listed here
C is grammatically incorrect. B is just weird. A is the most succinct.
I would be interested in reading a book with the title in option A. I like the metaphor used in the title and would be curious to read a short description of what the book is about.
A and B both catch me and sound more like a book than any of the others. Sounds like it could be a cool jungle adventure book.
A and D sound interesting. I'm curious to know why they think the truth won't work. C isn't as eye-catching or interest grabbing. I can't figure out what B is about or if marabou is a real word or not.
I love the metaphor in Option A - it's pretty sinister but appears elegant at first. Very creative. I also like "lies agreed upon", since that seems to be very common in life.
truth is a flightless bird is deep and makes me think, i would go with A
A sounds like the only coherent saying. B is a little dramatic. The rest make no sense.
Feel as if there is a much deeper meaning to that title and intrigues me the most of the 4 presented.
I like the image of a flightless bird. It is intriguing. It sparks my curiosity about what the main point of the story is
I like A because it sounds intriguing to me. I like D a lot too but it sounds odd starting with the word For. C and B are okay but they don't really get my attention.
choices based on personal level of poetic impact

I like B. It sounds like it could be a horror book. It's mysterious and a little spine tingling. I'd be interested in reading a book with that title and I'm a big horror/thriller fan.
B. Moan of the Marabou has a more interesting sound, this is a lot more curious and mysterious so that creates some intrigue about the story.
i quite like the first one it makes you ask more questions all of them are nice though m good and short.
I prefer not referring to truth and lies, so I focused on the mysterious title.
The shorter titles seems more attractive and I like the intriguing words in use for the first two titles I selected. The remaining two are still somewhat interesting as I'd like to learn more about what the flightless bird is all about.
Lies agreed on is provocative!
C sounds very generic so C 4. B is the catchiest so B 1. D and A are quite similar but D sounds better so D 2 and A 3
These are all interesting titles that give little insight into what the book will actually be about.
First one because I have am curious about marabou, the rest are ranked the way they are because I don't like long titles

i am only interested in C because it looks unique and makes me curious about what the book is going to be about
Lies agreed upon is a unique perspective/saying and I would be intrigued for the book. Truth is a flightless bird is moderately interesting sounding.
Honestly the only one that i really find interesting is option C because it makes it feel like an intense possibility of a book. The other titles dont really even make sense.
C, because it invokes my curiosity about what lies are agreed upon. A, because I've never heard truth be compared to a flightless bird. D, because it sounds like poetry more than anything else. And B, because I don't even know what a marabou is.
C seems to give me the best idea of what this book might be about. The other 3 options really don't mean much of anything, especially B which tells me nothing at all.
It is more intriguing to me as it could apply to anything.
Option C is intriguing and rather suspenseful
C sounds like suspense and intrigue, I usually like/seek those genres and stories. A sounds like a literary fiction or poetry, not usually my favorite. B just confuses me, probably because I don't know what marabou is so the title doesn't tell me anything. D... I just don't like the leading preposition, seems extraneous.
Lies Agreed Upon is something that would catch my eye. It's an intriguing phrase that makes you think. The rest just sound like random phrases trying too hard to be smart. The Moan one just is weird and sounds like porn. I dislike D because of the "For" because I dislike incomplete phrases
Option C is a really cool sounding title, that title sounds like a legal thriller of some sort. Option A is very creative sounding, the title sticks with you when you say it out loud. Options B and D are good, just not the best titles.
The first one I picked is the easiest to remember and is the most meaningful
I think the only one that seems interesting is the first one, the second one sounds too erotic but the last two are very awkward to say outloud.
C, the title makes me wonder what "lies" were "agreed upon", and it makes me want to find out more of the story.A, the name is intriguing, I want to find out if "Truth" is a name of a bird or is it being used a a metaphor.D, I find is intriguing, however the name is long, however I question what the "Truth is" and why it is "a flightless bird", it makes me interested in the story.B, the name is kind of interesting, however it is also uninteresting as a moan of a creature usually is unpleasant to hear.
Lies agreed upon sounds very dramatic and makes me ask a lot of questions. Which lies and how were they agreed upon, was it a forced agreement? I think that one grabs the attention best.
I chose Option C because it's a intriguing title. It implies mystery and hidden things, which always makes for a good read. Option B sounds exotic and the location would be some far flung island. The last two seem odd and awkward.
C is deep and dark. A is intriguing. D is wordy. B is too vague.
Lies agreed upon is a catchy title!
I like the title "Lies agreed upon" because it sounds like a mysterious topic that could cover any range of topics. I think the two about truth being related to a flightless bird are also quite interesting.
This title usxsimple but gets the message across. The others are a bit odd.
I chose Option B last because I don't even know what it means. I like either Option C or A because they sound the most intriguing to me. I would like to know what kind of lies people agree upon. I would also like to know how the truth is equated to a bird that doesn't fly.
I like c the best because there are a lot of lies people tell that are probably agreed upon by a lot of people so it is the most relatable. I think A and D are catchy titles but the word for does not need to be in there. I don’t really understand what B means so it is my least favorite
Out of these C for sure. Seems the most thrillerish. The other 3 are a toss us for me.
I think the book title should be simple for anyone to understand, I chose option C because its the only one I can make sense of.
option C is the best it is very intriguing and hooks you immediately, options d and a are both good but 1 word difference doesn't really impact it ether way, and option b is pretty plain
Option C adds mystery and suspense to the title. It makes you wonder what lies the book entails. The other three options makes you think to hard about the title for me to be interested in it.
Lies agreed upon sounds like it would be very suspenseful, a great "who-dun-it" keeping me interested until the very end.
C was my first choice. I liked that the best. D and A were almost the same and not bad choices. I picked D because I think it sounded just a little bit better than A. D was pretty bad. I don't know what a marabou is and the title just sounds like bad erotic literature.
Lies Agreed Upon sounds intriguing and like it would be an interesting plot full of twists and turns.
I absolutely love C and would definitely check into it. I'm moderately interested in D and A and think D is a little more interesting. I'm not sure what a marabou is so lean least towards B.
I like B because it's the only one to me that doesn't seem like a book about birds. A is fine because of the alliteration. B and D are just sort of funny to me. They seem like bird books.
C sounds like a mystery and captures my attention. I like D & A too. B last because I don't know what marabou means.
The titles that sound more scandalous are more appealing for me.
I made my choices based on what sounded good to me. Only rational thought process was adding "For" in choice A just seemed too wordy and I don't understand what B means at all
I picked C because it seemed to be the most interesting and most straight forward title. I found the other titles to be too symbolic sounding. I don't want a metaphor or simile for a title. I want a title that tells me what the book is about and that I understand.
C is interesting since it's a contradicting statement so it automatically peaks my interest. I don't like the word moan in the title but the double M makes the title roll off the tongue. A is kinda clunky as a title but D is worse.
Options C sounds intriguing and a mystery. I do like a mystery.
I liked the wording the best in choice one because I like to learn things. I like the word FOR in choice 2 because it sounds more professional and the fourth choice I did not like at all and doesnt seem to relate to the topic.
Option C first because that sounds like the title of an interesting thriller, like who is agreeing about these lies, sounds suspenseful, etc. Option B next because it gives some intrigue, what is a marabou and why is it moaning? Options A & D last because when I think of a flightless bird I think of an ostrich and "truth is an ostrich" sounds a little weird to me. I guess the point could be truth is like a flightless bird, i.e. "useless," but it's a little too tortured a metaphor for a book title I think.
I think choice C is intriguing but also easy to say and remember.
Lies agreed upon makes sense to me, the others are too abstract
I voted based on how appealing the titles were to me compared to the others and which ones I would click on in the real world.
C makes me think there is a conspiracy involved that would capture my interest, Both D and A make me think about why are there flightless birds if they are given wings, B makes no sense to me
Without knowing the theme of the book the title of Option C is the only one that made any sense to me, again without know the theme or story line.
Option C sounds like a suspenseful book where there is a plot that surprises the reader at the end.
Option C is the most intriguing and captures your attention more right off the bat. It is the most unique and doesn't sound like something we have heard a 100 times before. It also lets the reader imagine what the book is about and you can understand a little more of what it might entail, but are still intrigued enough to want to know more. Option C would appeal to a wider audience of people and would make them more likely to check deeper into what it has to offer.
I like my top pick. It is simple and has a lot of meaning to it. It portrays a great moral dilemma someone must face.
I am very taken with panel C. I think the title is very interesting.
I really don't care for any of these, and probably wouldn't read any of these titles. Of the four, I like C the most, or perhaps dislike it the least. It sounds to me like a book on recent history or politics. I can't discern what the remaining three are talking about - they don't catch my interest. A and D are both just too precious, and B sounds like a bad nature book. I'd leave all of these on the shelf.
Seems like some sort of oxymoron title but true in a way. Probably about how lies become truth over time if you keep repeating them. Went off the one that was more eye catching.
Lies agreed upon sounds like it could be a very interesting topic.
I prefer short title with clear information. The title in C matches the criteria. The title in B is also short. However, it is not as clear as the one in C. I do not like the two titles in A and D. They do not meet the criteria I mentioned earlier.
6 Responses to Option D
I like option D because it sounds the most influential and honest. Option A also sounds pretty convincing. Option C and B sound too obscure and outlandish for my preferences.
Option D is my top choice a fun title. It sounds like an open ended question a little - which interest me and makes me want to take a look inside the book to see what the story is like and if the reading will flow as well as the title. Option A was similar but didn't have quite the same poetry as option D. Option C seemed a bit unfinished, I felt like that was something missing from the title and option B just confused me, I probably would walk right past that book without wanting to pick it up and learn more.
D would have my interest for what it's about. C seems interested and I would want to know what it's about as well. B is kind of cool, it would make me curious. A is much too similar to D
I like the name of option D because it simple and quick to understand.
I ranked the potential book titles that I liked the most. I found the name "For truth is a flightless bird" to be the best sounding title. I then liked the title "Truth is a flightless bird" followed by "Lies agreed upon" and then finally "Moan of the marabou".
I like the title, for truth is a flightless bird the most as it’s the most compelling, interesting and intriguing of the titles.
